Vichy Gives Their Latest An Added Boost

Vichy-Skin-Fortifying-Daily-Booster-on-window-sill
I admit it; I don’t pay as much attention to skin care as I do makeup. Can you tell, LOL? But when I hear a buzz about one, I try and investigate as it seems to be where technological advances shine, which fascinates me.

What I do know is that most of time the first ingredient in a skin care products seems to always be water and I also know that as we age our skin becomes more dehydrated. To keep the skin plump and hydrated can be a challenge for both men and women. So saying this VICHY Minéral 89 ($29.50/1.69oz @ vichyusa.com, dermstore.com, ulta.com, walgreens.com) is just made up of water would be accurate but it’s not just any water. Like all the products in the Vichy line, they contain mineralizing thermal water found in the volcanoes in Vichy, France; 4,000 meters underground (just let that sink in for a moment!). This water contains a super unique blend of 15 skin-strengthening minerals that protect the skin against free radicals and this blend also balances the skin’s pH, which is important.

So what makes this Minéral 89 stand out? It also contains Hyaluronic Acid, which replenishes the moisture your skin needs, and is suitable for every skin type.

I’ve been using it for a solid 3 weeks just before my moisturizer at bedtime, and I hate to sound like a commercial, but I have caught myself taking an extra look at my skin; specifically, the cheek area. It just seems smoother than usual and my skin is usually not that clear this time of year.

And the price tag doesn’t hurt either.

Why You Should Use Micellar Water

My first ever micellar water was Bioderma Solution Micellar and it achieved cult status rather quickly and it seems like it was some time before another one came along like this one and this one. So what exactly is micellar water and why should I care? It's tiny balls of cleansing molecules called micelles suspended in soft water. It won't dry or strip the skin and they clean beautifully. Now they won't remove waterproof mascara but they do a nice job otherwise.

February Drugstore Faves

February-Drugstore-Faves

1. VICHY Pureté Thermale Beautifying Cleansing Micellar Oil ($18/4.2oz @ walgreens.com) – I’m a firm believer in the micellar water makeup remover trend.

2. LA ROCHE-POSAY Cicaplast Baume B5 ($14.99/1.35oz @ dermstore.com) – this one has worked wonders on a super dry spot on my ankle.

3. TRESEMME Beauty-Full Volume Reverse System Pre-Wash Conditioner ($6.49/16.5oz @ target.com ulta.com) – Use this one on wet hair before(it) you shampoo and watch your products work better than ever.

4. COVERGIRL The Super Sizer Mascara ($5.99 @ target.com) – It’s all about the comb brush when it comes to this mascara and length and volume it gives. Love!

5. CERAVE Renewing SA Cleanser for Normal Skin ($12.99/8oz @ walgreens.com) – from what I’ve read, the pH in this cleanser is not in the ideal range for the salicylic acid in this but the cleanser to be effective but it’s still a great cleanser.
