Overall, spring is probably my favorite season of the year. If you follow my blog then you know that I am big on storing away winter clothes and then making the big switch each season with pulling out the summer clothes, which is where I’m at right now. Growing up on the east coast, this is what everybody did! Do you practice this?

So each season I need to refresh my clothes with the latest styles and I do it at Target. They have the best variety of offerings when it comes to the season’s styles and a few times a year I pick up a couple different tops and dresses to carry me through. How are you taming your hair this season? Each year I pick a go-to style where it’s up off my neck. In the past, I’ve had hair almost down to my waist so I was able to get pretty creative. Now that it’s shoulder length, I feel slightly limited in my styles but I’ve been scouring the Internet lately and found one I love. Spring is here, finally, and though we here in Los Angeles certainly did not get the brunt of the storms this past season; I’m still hankering for the warmth and mega sunshine. Each year my family and I designate a specific March weekend day to do what we call, the “change over,” where we each go through our own clothes, shoes, etc. and pull the winter items out we want to store. Each of us puts our items in the hallway and my husband comes by with a huge bin (sometimes two) marked 'winter' where everything goes in and it goes downstairs for the season.

Do you do something like this? After the clothes are taken care of, I immediately visit the beauty closet to change up my products for the season. You should always change in your beauty routine and products based on the time of year. In the colder months, heavier creams are great and also darker nails colors, etc., whereas with the warmer times of year like spring and summer, body oils, fruity-smelling products and pastel shadows are my thing.

We are full-on into the holiday season and I have not had a chance to get my hair trimmed! What’s a girl to do? Well, improvise, for one, and since I had a huge holiday get-together this past weekend, I think my hair style came out pretty well.

The holidays are pretty much upon us and last minute get-togethers will be common place so I wanted to create a cool hair style for when these crop up. I love that I can get all I need to create any style at my local CVS. Their hair care aisle is bursting with all the latest hair care products from brands you know like TRESemmé®, Suave® and Dove.

I’ve been wearing my hair in a bun lately but when I make a top knot, the bun part is kind of boring so I found a way to jazz it up with braids and what I call the braided bun. It’s really easy to do!

What you will need for this tutorial:

• Elastic band
• Lots of bobby pins
• Hair spray
• Dry shampoo

The key to this style is sleek and polished. The bun itself can be a little disheveled but the rest of the hair should be smooth. I achieved a really smooth finish without being crunchy with TRESemmé TRES TWO Extra Hold Hair Spray. It gives me max control and tames those frizzies beautifully. This is a key product in this tutorial.

After putting dry hair into a high ponytail, divide the hair in half and make a braid with each side. Before making each braid, spray some dry shampoo along the hair in the ponytail. I like to use Dove Volume & Fullness Dry Shampoo to give strands some grip, which will help hold the braid longer than without.

You don’t have to elastic the ends of each braid since you will be tucking them inside the bun, but you can if you want to.

Then, wrapping one braid around the middle and then the other, pin with bobby pins as you go around. Make sure you are always holding the ends of the hair as you go around so they don’t become unraveled. Top with more TRESemmé hairspray to seal it all in, and you’re done.

Does it seem like there are more music festivals around the country these days? I’ve been to 3 of them this summer, which is more than I’ve been to in one season ever! And living in California, there are more than I can count to attend so I have to be selective.
