I’m in the Mood for SPRING!

I think the heavy rain in LA is done for the season, which is great because I'm so ready for Spring. And here are a few products I’ve got on my radar that are getting me ready for the upcoming season. Hello sandals!

Check out these Spring Favorites with Cybele Says.

1. IT COSMETICS Anti-Aging Armour ($38/1oz @ itcosmetics.com) – I always make sure I have a great SPF at the beginning of each new season. This one from IT contains a SPF 50, peptides, and hyaluronic acid as well as that optically blurring technology that pretty much makes any imperfections disappear while you’re wearing it.

2. SOL DE JANEIRO Bum Bum Cream ($57/8.1oz, $25/2.5oz @ sephora.com) – what is it about this product? Is it the name? Is it the cool container? Kinda both actually and more. Pronounced (boom-boom), this luxe cream contains cupuaçu butter, acai, coconut oil and the Amazonian plant guarana, which is a major player in the caffeine department. All of these combined make for skin that’s not only taut but super smooth. And the scent of this one is soo inviting! I go in and out of craving it. I know, odd!

3. WOOSH BEAUTY Spin-On Lip Gloss ($19 @ wooshbeauty.com) – I’ve decided to revisit lip gloss again this season as I’ve been pretty distant from it and I’m starting with this one. Wow. This one really performs when it comes to the application brush. It rolls as you roll it over lips with the gloss. This is a first! Shown here in Pink Natural

4. SKINDINAVIA Post-Makeup Recovery Spray ($26/4oz, $36/8oz @ skindinavia.com) – now here’s a brand new category! A product you apply after taking makeup off, which applies nutrients like mineral zinc and willow bark, which can help with breakouts. Just spray on within 5 minutes of removing makeup to reap the benefits.

5. TRUE BRIT LONDON Nail Polish in Heirloom (£12.50 @ truebritlondon.co.uk) – this metallic rose gold shade from this new brand is so fitting right now! True Brit London is only available for purchase on their UK site right now but I’m sure it will expand.

6. HELIOCARE Dietary Supplement Sun Protection Pills ($30/60 pills @ dermstore.com) – why not fight UVA/UVB rays from the inside out? Major technology is inside these pills will not only protect it from the sun but also supply it with antioxidants. Great for all skin types!

5 Must-Have Summer Products

5-...-Must-Have-Summer-Products
A Makeup Primer
SKINDINAVIA The Makeup Primer Spray ($49/8oz, $35/4oz @ dermstore.com) – a skin primer is going to help your makeup stay on your face where it belongs and not melt off any quicker then it has to. This one is the first face mist primer I’ve seen and I love that you just mist it on and then you’re onto your next step of foundation. Also available in an oil-free version.

Waterproof Mascara - URBAN DECAY Cannonball Ultra Waterproof Mascara ($20 @ nordstrom.com and urbandecay.com) – nothing worse than coming out of the pool or ocean with black mascara running down your cheeks. Not sexy.

A Continuous Spray SunscreenHAWAIIAN TROPIC SPF 30 Dry Oil Clear Spray Sunscreen ($8.99/6oz @ ulta.com) – I’ll use a dry oil over a heavy lotion any day during the hot summer months and this one has sunscreen in it? Woo-hoo, double-duty, baby! And this is one of those continuous spray ones so you can get in in those hard to reach places on the body!

Non-Moving Lip ColorKAT VON D Everlasting Liquid Love ($19 @ sephora.com) – who wants their hair getting stuck in lip gloss when the summer winds blow? Not me! This one dries down to a super matte finish; almost too matte but better to have color then none at all. And these lasts for hours on lips! Shown here in Bauhau5, a deep raspberry.

Bright TipsNAILS INC. Gel Effect Polish ($14 @ saks.com) – I just picked up this bright red called St. James shown here last weekend (Mayfair Lane also shown here, a dusty pale pink) and wow, does this polish totally rock! I was sick of taking the time to put on a flawless manicure on my fingernails only to have it start chipping within 24-hours. This formula uses a plasticiser technology to create the glossiness and longevity of a salon gel polish but without the price tag or removal process.

Skindinavia Makeup Finishing Spray

Skindinavia-Makeup-Finishing-SprayI use a makeup primer like kind of an insurance so my foundation and powder will stay on. I use eye shadow primer so my shadow stays on for many, many hours too. But since the primers go on first, it holds the shadow/foundation from the underside. What about the top of the colors? I wrote about this one before but I think it’s worth mentioning again since they repackaged the line for the third time and they might have upgraded the formula since I wrote about it 5 years ago. It’s SKINDINAVIA Makeup Finishing Spray and is now my makeup from the outside insurance.

No kind of melt-down is pretty, especially a makeup one. We’re getting into hotter temps since spring is right around the corner so keep your face shine in check with this Finishing Spray. It contains their patented Temperature Control Technology that helps prevent any makeup from melting, drying out, becoming shiny or creasing.

And it’s so easy to use – apply all your makeup (except mascara), shake the bottle really well, four pumps in the form of an X and then a T about 8” from the face, wait 5 seconds and you’re done.

$19/2oz, $29/4oz, $39/8oz @ dermstore.comamazon.com.

Face Saving Mists

It’s been hotter than hot in most parts of the country so why not give a mist a shot? I can’t think of a better way to give yourself an instant cool down and all three of these are over-the-makeup approved.

  Skindinavia-Kanebo-Skyn-Iceland-Lush

SKINDINAVIA Summer Moisturizer SPF8 (39/4oz @ skindinavia.com) – made especially for the summer months (the SPF could be higher, no?), this one contains hygroscopic moisturizer that mimics the skins own hydrating elements and is great for those with oily/combo skin.

KANEBO Hydrachange Mist ($75/3.4oz @ sensai-cosmetics.com) – From the Sensai Collection, this one contains their Hydrachange Complex to moisturize the skin and their Aqua Floral fragrance.

SKYN ICELAND Arctic Face Mist ($29/3.99oz @ skyniceland.com) – The name of this just sounds refreshing! Spray on some of the Multivitamin Complex with vitamins like A, B, C and E amongst others to nourish the skin.

LUSH Breath of Fresh Air ($8.95/3.3oz @ lush.com) – Never have to worry about bad ingredients inside any Lush products! Be like New Edition and Cool It Down with aloe vera gel, fresh sea water and rose oil, among others.

A tip for all of these - keep them in the frig so when you spray, instant cooling relief.
