#BewitchingBeauty with Ralphs This Halloween

This is a sponsored post. All words are my own.

What are you going to be for Halloween this year? I’ve done a slight rendition to this comic book makeup look shown here and I decided to really go all out this year with the wig and full makeup. It’s really easy, doesn’t take a lot of time and looks really cool, so I thought I’d do a tutorial with makeup I picked up on my weekly shopping trip at Ralphs.

I’m going to be wearing a lot of makeup for the tutorial so I have to make sure I prep my skin well. After washing I apply Organic Wear Bright Boost Oil Elixir. This face oil is packed with really great ingredients: camellia seed oil as well as oils from sunflower, jojoba and grape seed among others. No silicone fillers inside!

After waiting a few for the oil to seep in my skin, I apply Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Cushion Corrector + Primer in Peach/Lavender. This duo color-corrects my skin and blurs fine lines and pores, which is exactly what I need for this look.

Next, I apply Almay SmartShade Anti-Aging Skintone to my face and neck. Right now I’m in the odd stage of “it’s not summer but not quite fall yet,” so my skin’s tone is in between. This one from Almay is able to adjust to your skin tone.

So now my canvas is ready. With a liquid liner, I outline my features like the face, lips, brows, eyes and nose. I line my eyelids with a cartoony-color that’s bright pink and then mascara. I’ve been liking Maybelline Colossal Big Shot Volum’ Express Mascara. This look calls for big volume so I coat about 20 layers on and then apply false lashes.

Next is the most important part to make it look fully cartoony and grainy. Dab white dots on the face and neck. I used a liquid liner, not a pencil, as a liquid is more pigment and won’t smudge once it dries.

Since I’ll be attending an all-day Halloween party with my niece, I need to make sure my lips stay on, so that’s why I’m choosing Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink in Lover. If you are a regular reader, you know that these are at the top of my list of long wearing lippie list! I just can’t get enough of this formula. I hope they are never discontinued.

The last step in this tutorial is the hair. I picked this wig up at the thrift store and have had it for a few years. Like a pair of cat ears, you just never know when you’re going to need a funky wig. And here is my final look. Do you like it? Will you be trying this look out for your upcoming Halloween party?

And between 10/18 and 10/31, spend $15 and save $5 on your next purchase. Look for shelf tags! $5 off coupon printed at checkout so pick up all your Halloween beauty needs at Ralphs. I spent more than $15 so I have my coupon in my wallet ready to use on my next weekly shopping trip. Keep Ralphs in mind for all your beauty look needs!

How to Keep Your Face ON in the Summer Heat

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All words are my own.

The biggest challenge I find during the summer season is keeping my makeup looking fresh and not melting off my face! I attend a lot of weekend BBQ’s and even though they are usually in the late afternoons, it can still be quite hot at that time.

So I’ve got a few tips that have worked for me and it won’t break the bank. First, apply a moisturizer like Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel with SPF 15, which I easily pick up at Ralphs supermarkets. This one gives my skin a nice base and something for the next few steps to hold on to. And my skin can always use as much sunscreen as possible!

After the Water Gel, I apply a face primer and then my foundation. The key after the foundation is to lock it in with setting powder. I like to apply mine with a flat sponge and I leave it on my face for about 5 minutes to set it, then just buff it into the skin with a brush. And put on a lot! Because it's translucent, it won't cake up. Believe me, it will help your makeup stay put. There are quite a few powders available, but just make sure it’s colorless.

When the weather is nice, I don’t want any extra trips and to be stuck inside shopping so picking up the essentials at Ralphs along with my weekly groceries is essential, which includes skin care, makeup and even nail polish.

As the sun sets, as much as I don’t feel right if I don’t fully wash my face and clean all the day’s makeup and dirt off, I admit, I sometimes get lazy the later in the night it gets. So in order to try and avoid that nagging feeling of, “I-have-to-get-up-and-wash-my-face,” I keep Olay Makeup Remover Wipes always at the ready. They’re fragrance-free and remove even waterproof makeup.

Pick up all your necessary beauty products at Ralphs and check out the #RalphsBeautyEvent between August 9-August 22. You can save $5 instantly by buying $15 worth of participating beauty products.

Disclaimer: You can mix & match participating cosmetics, hair care or skin care. Item selection may vary by store. Must meet $15 purchase minimum after coupons have been redeemed. $5.00 off for every $15 spent on participating items.

"Survive the Summer" with Ralphs

Disclaimer: This post is sponsored by Kroger. All words are my own.

Where do you pick up most of your everyday beauty products? I’ve pretty much been conditioned since I was a teen and started shopping, to get them when buying my weekly groceries. I mean, who has time to go to this store and that store? And in my house, when something is running low our out, it has to be listed on the pad of paper on the refrigerator and thankfully almost every item on my weekly list is available at my local Ralphs, which is part of the Kroger Family of Stores. They carry what I need and there’s usually some kind of sale going on for shampoo or sunscreen so of course I can take advantage of that!

And now that the temps are going up, the kids want to be outside, I can spend more time with them since I have Ralphs and they everything I need at the ready and at great prices.

Here are two of the items I regularly pick up:

Shea Moisture African Black Soap

Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleaning Water

And some others I regularly buy, which includes Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer, CoverGirl Plumpify BlastPro Mascara, as well as John Frieda Frizz Ease Flexible Hold Hairspray with Keraflex.

Ralphs wants to help you “Survive the Summer” so beginning May 28 through June 10 you can download over $40 in digital coupons, including the ones shown here, @
