Gift Giving!

Sometimes I use the holidays to give a beauty gift of luxury; something I just don’t see that person buying for themselves necessarily. Here are 5 that will dazzle and delight!

1. TOO FACED Mr. Right Perfect Powder Brush ($36 @ – never underestimate the power of a quality makeup brush! It just feels so nice to sweep one across the skin, right?

2. BARE MINERALS ‘Precious Gems’ Lip Oil Balm Trio ($26 @ – these are some of my favorite tinted balms and I always keep one tucked in my purse. Each has a hint of color you can actually see (hate when one promises tint and there is none!).

3. SEPHORA COLLECTION Ombré Obsession Eyeshadow Palette ($25 @ – OMG, how great is this palette?? I’d say it falls into the Product As Art category for sure. And what a great value at $25 (they claim it’s worth $175!). I can’t put enough exclamation points in this blurb about it!

4. HOURGLASS Nº 28 Lip Treatment Oil in Icon ($42 @ - lips are always center stage so you’ve got to keep them looking great in these cold temps. And this one has a dash of color in it.

5. ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS Contour Cream Kit $40 @ – I know I’ve tried using bronzers, eye shadows and other dark shades to contour with. Pick her up the right products to use for it, ok?

Review+Swatches - Shiseido Luminizing Satin Eye Color Trios

Inspired by Shiseido Artistic Director Dick Page’s travels around the globe, SHISEIDO just came out with some new Luminizing Satin Eye Color Trios ($33 @ Just gazing at these colors, I can only imagine where Mr. Page even went! The amazon with the deep, rich greens? Or the Orient with the golds and coppers? The world truly is his oyster.

I have to admit, it was hard to delve into these two eye shadow trios because they look nice just in the compact (yup, I’m filing this post under my on-going feature of Product As Art that are too pretty to touch) but I’m glad I did. They apply so smoothly and blend really well and so worth the price tag.

Each color has a satiny finish and includes Micromatic Color Pigments, which reflect light, giving a bolder look. And the shadows also contain their signature moisturizing agent, Super Hydro-Wrap Vitalizing DE, but as I’ve stated before on my site, I’m not sure an ingredient like this in such a low amount can make a difference in a product.

So let’s take a closer look at each trio!

Product As Art

This piece has actually been a while in the making. I have been compiling products that are too pretty to touch as in, I can’t bear to break the seal and run a brush over the colors. Does anyone else have this issue?

Something like MAC’s limited edition Colour Forms Cool Eyes x 5 ($38 only @ shown here practically sends me into spasms! Not only are the color blocks pretty but can you imagine keeping each color in their designated area? Ok, I’m a little obsessed with that too. There’s nothing more skin crawling than seeing a dirty palette.

Since palette or shadow art has become so hot and so pleasant to look at, I’ll highlight some of my favorites each season. While every product that appears on Cybelesays is tried and tested by us, this on-going feature will feature ones that we might not have tried and tested, just fawned over. How do you like that?

So purchase them or not, here are a few that just took our breath away.

1. CHANEL Multi-Use Make-Up Palette ($85 @

2. DIOR ‘Impression Cuir Leather Couture’ Eyeshadow ($55 @

3. GUERLAIN ‘Mereorites’ Illuminating Press Powder ($65 @

4. ESTEE LAUDER Pure Color Swirl Gloss ($18 @
