A #RefreshedRoutine for the New Year!

This post is sponsored by Mirum, but opinions expressed are my own.

New year, new resolutions, right? With the few that you make each year, have you ever done a skin care resolution? Like, “I will remove all my makeup at the end of each day,” or “I will exfoliate my skin 2 times per week,” or, “I will just take better care of my skin this year.” I’m not a big fan of resolutions; rather, I like to make ones that are not going to be hard to stick to. I mean, you have to clean your skin anyway, so why not get yourself into a new makeup removal routine and start the year off right? And it couldn’t be easier as you can pick up all you need at your local CVS and They carry all the major brands like POND’S®, St. Ives, Noxzema and Simple® and have big, easy to browse beauty aisles.

If there is one thing that is so important, it’s removing your makeup at the end of each day. Believe me, there is not shortcut around it! So make sure you use something like Simple Cleansing Micellar Water to get it all off. It effectively cleanses the skin of makeup and oil while unclogging pores. Did you know that this formula is made with triple purified water, hexylene glycol and is infused with vitamins B3 and C? Yet, it’s good on all skin types, including sensitive. Yup, not your average micellar water and I’m such a fan of this one that if I’m going makeup-free on the weekend, I swipe this one across my skin a few times a day.

Then, after removing makeup, time to clean with something like POND’S Cold Cream Cleanser. I’ve been using this one for years and was introduced to it in our family bathroom as a child. It removes stubborn makeup, even waterproof mascara, and since it’s actually 50% moisturizer, I don’t really need to apply a face lotion after using this one, which I like.

Another I like to use sometimes in place of POND’s is Noxzema Classic Clean Original Deep Cleansing Cream. It too removes dirt, makeup and oil and cleans pores and this one is made with eucalyptus so my skin has a slight tingle to it afterwards.

Lastly, I recommend incorporating a facial exfoliator into your weekly routine. St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub has achieved somewhat of a cult status among beauty lovers. It uses corn kernel meal and walnut shell powder to exfoliate the skin and is also ok to use on sensitive skin. I like that after I use it my skin is soft and not tight from over-cleaning it.

And because we are hitting a new year, CVS wants to help you celebrate so check out the deals available 1/1 to 1/6:

  • Buy 1, get 1 50% off all POND’S, St. Ives, Noxzema and Simple skin care products
  • Get $5 ExtraBucks when you spend $15 on participating POND’S, St. Ives, Noxzema and Simple skin care products

And don’t forget to bring your CVS Reusable Bags with you shopping. They are durable, collapsible, made of cotton and are eco-friendly. How about the New Year’s resolution of remembering to bring your CVS Reusable Bag? That would be a good one too.

Cleaning up from Halloween with Pond's

This post is sponsored by Mirum. All opinions expressed are my own.

So here is this year's Halloween look! It's a comic book character. And this requires me to wear a lot of makeup to create it. And ugh, the removal of it all can be such a pain. Thankfully I had POND’S Cold Cream Cleanser that I picked up at CVS to take it all off. This cleanser is great for a few reasons - unlike ordinary cleansers, POND’S Cold Cream Cleanser is actually made of 50% moisturizer and it really takes care of my skin, cleaning it deeply of makeup and dirt. So while infusing my skin with moisture and cleaning it in one easy step, it never feels stripped dry! Not to mention, a few generations of us women in my family have used this POND’s Cold Cream Cleanser for years, so I have very fond memories of it in our bathroom growing up.

Removal of your Halloween makeup has never been easier. Simply scoop about 1 tablespoon into one hand, rub hands together and then rub it all around your face and watch the makeup come right off! Then, use a wet washcloth to remove the cleanser and makeup. Done!

Since we now are in the habit of bringing our own bags with us when we shop, consider the CVS Reusable Bag next time you go shopping. It’s durable, collapsible and made of cotton. It’s always in my trunk ready for me to shop, which can be dangerous in-and-of itself! Now this is #BootifulSkinCare.

And now, buy ONE (1) POND’S Product, Get ONE (1) 50% off with card 10/22/17-10/28/17 at CVS. Visit @

Unilever & Walmart Have Skin Care Covered this Season

Post sponsored by Mirum Shopper. Opinions are 100% my own.

Ok, so it’s finally getting cold outside and it’s about time. Did you know that in Los Angeles, raining is considered our winter? It’s true. I really doesn’t rain any other time of the year except in the winter months. Growing up on the east coast and now living here in LA proper for the past 10+ years, it’s been hard to get used to this fact.

So how do you keep your skin hydrated and protected when the cold just doesn’t want to be your friend? You head to the Walmart aisle! You know you’re going to be there anyway working on that holiday list, so why not visit their face care aisle? Walmart has a wide selection of Unilever cleansers that will not only clean your skin beautifully and keep your skin protected but they will fit into your budget. #FaceCareForMe

I change my face cleanser over to a product that won’t strip the moisture out of it like Pond’s Cucumber Cold Cream Cleanser. Growing up, Pond’s Cold Cream was always on my mother’s counter in the bathroom so I too have been using it for years. And this Cucumber Cleanser smells delish and removes the day’s makeup, even waterproof mascara, lickety-split, and nourishes my skin with much-needed moisture in one easy skin care routine.

Be sure to head to one of the two in-store Beauty Barista events at Walmart! Scheduled to take place 11/16 – 12/16 in Louisville, Kentucky and Winter Garden, Florida, you can learn about hot trends and product innovations and receive samples from the Beauty Barista.

Pond's Makes A Glove Compartment Staple

Love the bright red lipstick but not when it’s time to take it off? POND’S Clean Sweep Wet Cleansing Towelettes ($4.27/30 @ remove any and all red lippies lickety-split. I’ve never seen anything take off lip paint to well and so thoroughly. I’ll put this one up against and liquid makeup remover any day! They come in Original Clean (infused with Triple Tea Antioxidant Complex), Age Defying (infused with Collagen and Retinol, wow!) and Micro Dermabrasion (exfoliating microbeads on one side). Face it, your skin can use a little freshen up throughout the day, so why not use one that isn’t messy like these?

For an overall deep cleansing, I would still use their Cold Cream but if you are in a hurry or on a trip, these clothes remove dirt and makeup just fine.
