I’ve been traveling quite a bit this summer so paring down the amount of makeup I take with me has been a must. One that is great just for travel is this PHYSICIANS FORMULA Mineral Wear 3-in-1 Setting Powder ($15.99 @ physiciansformula.com, walgreens.com).
As the name states, it’s a 3-in-1 of the face’s necessities:
Set (translucent setting powder).
Bright (the pink shade) will brighten up under the eyes and give your skin a glow.
Bake (the yellow powder) for helping concealer to set under the eyes and not crawl into wrinkles.
I’ve been at a bit of a loss when it comes to keeping my brow hairs in place. I’ve been oscillating between a wax pencil from ASBH and something called Eye Brow Coat from Daiso. I have my father’s brows so crazy hairs that do their own thing sometimes so my brows getting “messy” is a thing.
Let’s file this post under, “I forgot I had this,” shall we? It’s PHYSICIANS FORMULA Brow Last Longwearing Brow Gel ($10.95 @ physiciansformula.com, ulta.com) and it’s a, “longwearing, water-resistant (I think waterproof), transfer-proof, smudge-proof, budge-proof transformer with brown-enhancing ingredients.
Can you believe we still have over a month of summer temps? My biggest problem this time of year when it comes to makeup is the dreaded makeup meltdown. It’s not fun and doesn’t look good. Here are few I like that will help you avoid it this season.
Setting Mist – SUPERGOOP Supergoop! X MILLY Defense Refresh Setting Mist SPF 50 ($28/3.4oz @ sephora.com) – keep it all in place with a good makeup setting spray. And this one has SPF 50 built in so you refreshing all day will give you a shot of protection from the sun.
Brow Gel – PHYSICIANS FORMULA Brow Last Longwearing Brow Gel ($10.95 @ walgreens.com) – I inherited my father’s brows so my brow hairs get long so keeping them in place is a must. This duo adds a dash of color and the other end combs it all in place.
Blush – I usually go with a cream blush but this CARGO Swimmables Water Resistant Blush ($26 @ ulta.com, dermstore.com) is showing its strength. This one is sweatproof and waterproof so I’m restoring my faith in pressed powder during the summer again.
Anti-Lip bleeding Lippie – MAC Liptensity Lip Pencil ($21 @ maccosmetics.com, nordstrom.com) – I’ve been wearing these as full lip colors and the added benefit? No bleeding! The Marsala shade is a favorite.
PHYSICIANS FORMULA just came out with this Butter Collection Palette ($11.88 exclusively @ physiciansformula.com, walmart.com on May 2) and it just screams summertime! Choose from the Light/Medium palette shown here or the Medium/Dark. The palette contains a Butter Bronzer, a Butter Blush and two new Highlighters in Full Moon and Galactic and a new EDT fragrance called Butter Paradise, a blend of coconut and tropical floral notes on a bed of sandalwood and warm vanilla.
Like their other pressed powders, these one are infused with Murumuru Butter, Cupuaçu Butter, and Tucuma Butter. #ButterCollection
Does this look enticing?
Another day, another liquid lipstick! PHYSICIANS FORMULA The Healthy Lip Velvet Finish Liquid Lipstick ($7.95 @ physiciansformula.com, ulta.com) is the latest to come down the pike so how did these do. Let's get to it!
What it is: Long-wearing, decadent mousse-like texture lipstick delivers high-impact color that glides on for seamless one-stroke color payoff. The lightweight cream formula features beauty miracle-worker, avocado oil that hydrates and moisturizes, while hyaluronic acid smooths and enhances lips overtime for a healthy beautiful pout.13 shades in all.
It’s officially springtime for PHYSICIANS FORMULA and they just came out with some cool new products. Let’s take a look at my picks from the bunch:
#InstaReady Setting Spray ($12.95/3.4oz @ physiciansformula.com, ulta.com) and #InstaReady Face Primer SPF 18 ($12.95/1oz @ physiciansformula.com, ulta.com) – We all know that along with good quality makeup brushes, prepping and finishing the face is key to having your makeup last throughout the day/evening.
I’m pretty much obsessed with my brows. Unless I just had them done, they always seem to need a trim or to be reshaped. With all the freakin’ products I own for them (pencils, pomades, combs, spoolies, setting gels, highlighter and more), all you really need are these included in PHYSICIANS FORMULA Eye Booster 4-in-1 Brow Boosting Kit ($14.95 @ ulta.com and physiciansformula.com). Right now it’s only available in Universal Brown (the pencil color is this shade) but I’m maybe they’ll add more options if this sells well.

This is the ALGENIST’s first foray into the makeup world and they latched onto a pretty hot trend right now! Not only do each of these two products contain their AlgaCorrecting Complex to fight aging, but it uses the naturally-occurring red, blue, green and golden algae that exists in the complex to do the correcting.
ALGENIST REVEAL Color Correcting Radiant Primer ($36) – smooths out your skin creating the ultimate canvas for what’s to come next!
ALGENIST REVEAL 6-in-1 Color Correcting Concealer ($28) – yup, this does 6 things: primes, brightens, treats, color corrects, provides high coverage and helps fight aging. This one camouflaged some pretty nice dark circles I was sporting one morning.

Looking for an all-in-one foundation for a good price? This one might be it. It’s PHYSICIANS FORMULA Mineral Wear Talc-Free All-in-1 ABC Cushion Foundation SPF 50 ($16.95 @ physiciansformula.com, ulta.com and drugstores nationwide). It’s a medium to full coverage liquid foundation and is in one of those cushion foundations, as in inside is a sponge that houses the formula. And to keep it fresh, there is a clear protective cover that snaps over the top of it.
