Perricone's Cold Plasma. Is It Worth It?
This next product from skin guru Dr. PERRICONE MD is shaking up the skin care world right now. I mean, how can you miss the ads in all the beauty mags? Seems he has narrowed down the ten biggest visible signs of aging and created one product to conquer all of them. Let’s see if your list agrees with his: wrinkles, radiance, firmness, elasticity, blotchiness, clarity, smoothness, texture, redness and dryness. Would discolorations be covered under the blotchiness category? I think it is. That seems to be me these days! Anyway, the product is called Cold Plasma and it touts is a high concentration of vitamin C (the Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate in the ingredient list), which we all know is a major anti-aging ingredient. But my question is, how do they keep it stable? I’ve heard over and over again that by the time most beauty products get into our hands the vitamin C has lost its potency, so I’m not sure how they keep it active inside the jar but they say they can.
I’ve been using it at night for almost 6 weeks now, which is the standard time frame when testing a skin care product out, and I can say I do see a difference in the overall texture and tone of my skin and my hair stylist complemented my skin last I saw her, so it did something. So is it worth the $150 for 1oz? I’m not sure as I kind of expected more, like miracles. I mean, look at that list! So while it did seem to absorb into my skin pretty quickly (maybe because I’ve been on the Clarisonic for the past couple of weeks! Review to come shortly) and boost my overall appearance, I’m not sure in the 6 weeks it helped with the firmness, elasticity or a few other traits on the list.
One other trait, which is odd but has to be mentioned, is that it does have a smell to it that is at the opposite of the pleasant spectrum. Like most products though, you might be able to get used to something that has a scent to it but with this one, it didn’t really happen for me. At least if I smell the same smell down the line, even a few years, I will know exactly what it is! If I had to give this an overall grade, I’d give it a straight up B.
