Have You Tried A Dry Body Oil Yet?

Votre-Vu-Amour-D'Ore-Payot-Rejenerating-Dry-Oil They are rich and moisturizing yet not greasy like a lotion can be until it sinks in. I mean, who wants to slather on a thick lotion in this heat? Here are two next to my shower right now.

VOTRE VU Amour D’Ore Les Vitamines Pour Vous/Golden Love Multi-Vitamin Oil for Face, Body and Hair ($49/2.71oz @ votrevu.com) – uses St. John’s Wort oil, grape seed oil, sweet almond oil and many, many other great ones. Wow!

PAYOT  Huile Precieuse Minerale Regenerating Dry Oil ($61/3.3oz @ amazon.com) – uses Jojoba oil, apricot oil, and avocado oil. I can't get enough of the fragrance in this one.

It's Beginning To Smell Like Spring in My Shower

Is it shallow to judge a shower gel by how it smells? I mean, how do you determine if one is really good or not? I used to just base it on how well it lathered and how my skin feels but I’ve used some good ones in the past few years that don’t lather at all so that trait is out (here are two for example). Now it’s smell and how my skin feels afterward. Not rocket science. And since Spring is officially here next week, here are three that have a springy trait to each.

From L to R:

  • KORRES Basil Lemon Showergel ($13/8.45oz @ dermstore.com) – lemon zest and fresh grown basil from the garden.
  • LA FALAISE Honey & Macadamia Nut Body Wash ($9.95/6.6oz @ savonlafalaise.com) – bees, buzz, buzz.
  • PAYOT Revitalizing Shower Gel ($16/6.7oz @ skin1.com) – fresh cut spring flowers. This one smells like it should be a bottled perfume.

Visit Paris With Your Hands

Payot-Hand-Cream-for-site For some reason my hands have been extra dry this month and I don’t know why. Here in LA it’s not unseasonably cold, quite the opposite. So I’m glad I have PAYOT Nourishing Softening Hand Cream ($23/2.5oz @ skin1.com) on hand (pun intended). Maybe it’s the sweet almond extract or the Shea Butter or jojoba seed oil inside? Or the combo of them together with the other ingredients? I don't know. All I do know is that it seeps in quickly and totally non-greasy. And I love that it has that classic scent like only real French products have.

Pay-ot It Forward

Payotremover_2Have you ever used an eye makeup remover that stung your eyes when you used it? I know. Hello … it’s called eye makeup remover so it shouldn’t hurt! Make sure that doesn’t happen again with PAYOT Demaquillant Pour Les Yeux Decongestant Softening Eye Makeup Remover ($20/4.2oz @ payot.com). I know it’s not a word heard regularly in when referring to beauty but what visual do you get with the word decongestant? Purging, loosening. And that’s just what this Remover does with rose water and it’s oh, so gentle. Not made for removing waterproof makeup.
