Two from Paula's Choice!

Paula's-Choice-Youth-Extending-Fluid-and-2%-BHA-Liquid-Exfoliant
I’m all about the PAULA’S CHOICE line these days! Here are two that have won my heart!

I’m very particular when it comes to my SPF and I think brands are getting better with the formulas. Not too long ago, the high ones seemed to be chalky and didn’t blend well. These days, I have not even been able to tell one from the other, they sink in so well. One I’m giving praise to is Youth-Extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50 ($28.05/2oz @ paulaschoice.com, dermstore.com). Not only does it contain a high SPF that protects from UVA and UVB rays but the formula is light and milky. And there is no greasiness left behind. I apply this one each morning before applying my makeup for the day.

Paula's Choice The Unscrub

Using-Paula's-Choice-The-Unscrub
What kind of facial exfoliator do you use? Do you have a preference of physical over chemical ones or vice versa? I’ve been mainly using chemical ones in the past few years because of the whole micro plastics catastrophe. It absolutely breaks my heart and it’s pretty hard to know if what you are using or buying is safe for our environment or not. Here is a list you can compare to the scrubs you have to see if you should be using it or not.

One that’s aware of the issue is PAULA’S CHOICE and their The UnScrub ($29/4oz, $9/travel size @ paulaschoice.com, nordstrom.com).

Paula's Choice DEFENSE Collection

Paula's-Choice-DEFENSE-Skin-Care-Collection
I’ve been thinking a lot about skin care lately as my skin seems to be on a good plateau right now, which is great. My regimen the past year is working and keeping it all in balance. My hormonal acne around my jawline has stopped, and my skin doesn’t seem overly dry. It’s funny because I love any kind of special treatments and skin care gadgets, so I’ve been thinking I might want to incorporate a new one into my routine. Then, I look in the mirror and think, “why mess with what I have going on?”

I recently spoke with the owner of Doll Face Skincare Studios, Lila Castellanos, about what we should all be doing when it comes to skin care and she said, “The two most important parts of any daily skincare routine are skin cleansing and exfoliation, both of which are vital to proper skin care. The first step is removing makeup with remover or an oil-based cream. Follow with a cleanser that is well-suited for your skin type.

Exfoliation involves rubbing the skin with an exfoliator or scrub in order to get rid of dry and dead skin cells from the surface of the skin. It’s considered one of the most important aspects of any skincare routine because it helps prevent many skin problems while increasing blood circulation, equating to healthy and glowing skin.” Woo-hoo! I’m on the right track then. I usually use a chemical exfoliator in the shower a few times a week and of course I fully wash my face at the end of each day, so good to know that I’m doing the right things.

Paula's Choice Perfect Cleansing Oil

Paula's-Choice-Perfect-Cleansing-Oil
When it comes to cleansing my face, I love a cleansing oil and with the temps on the cold side of the spectrum, altering my skin’s pH too much is not what I want to do. Enter PAULA’S CHOICE Perfect Cleansing Oil ($25/4oz @ paulaschoice.com, dermstore.com, nordstrom.com).

It’s made up of five plant oils, which are effective at removing makeup and dirt while keeping the skin’s moisture balance – sunflower, coconut, meadowfoam, jojoba and grape seed are individually great for the skin but combined together, they work wonders. No need for tugging or rubbing to remove makeup though it might not be the best for taking off waterproof mascara. But for everything else, I give this a thumbs up. And the price is so right!
