Get Acquainted With … Argan Oil

I’m starting a new on-going feature here on the site called Get Acquainted With … where I spotlight a brand, ingredient or trend I think you should be aware of. First up is Argania Spinosa Kernal Oil, also known as Argan Oil. Argan Oil is a plant oil produced from the kernals of the argan tree that is andemic to Morocco. It can be used to help heal burns, in foods like to dip breads and on salads. In beauty it is known for its super moisturizing properties, to help with juvenile acne and of course in hair and body products. Source: Wikipedia.org.

Here are some that use it in beauty products:

Nair Gets Legs Ready for Summer!

Nair-Shower-Powder-Max It’s been a long time since I’ve used a depilatory. I just kind of forgot about them and had just been shaving my life away, until their PR people sent me the latest from NAIR. I think I wrote about them about 7 or 8 years ago but can’t recall. Every time I think about the line, I think of how nasty it used to smell when I first tried it in the 80’s. Well the brand has come a long way and they have really been able to tone the scent down about 80%. They’ve come out with a few new ones and the one I tried is their Shower Power Max Cream for Legs and Body. It comes with a sponge and using the flat side first, layer some on your legs or arms before entering the shower (like 1 minute). Get in the shower but don’t rub off the cream just yet. Do something else like … wash your face or shampoo your hair. Then do a test spot to see if the hair is coming off. If it’s ready (they don’t recommend leaving it on for more than 10 minutes), use the bumpy side to wipe off the cream and with it, the hair. Really easy and wow, are my legs and arms so smooth now! $10.50/11oz @ ulta.com.
