Beauty from the Inside Out with Glow by Nature Made®

Disclosure:  I was asked by Carusele to participate in the #MoisturizeFromWithin campaign sponsored by Walgreens. Although I have been compensated, all opinion are my own.

Everyone thinks that beauty is just on the outside but how you feel inside can dictate everything in your life - from how you dress, to how you carry yourself throughout the day. Now I admit, I am not a morning person; just ask my college roommates! And for my job, I don’t have to dress up unless I have a meeting so the less I have to do in the morning before leaving for work, the better.

Glow by Nature Made®

On those days where I do find myself with an extra 5 or 10 minutes, I put on a little face or do my nails. Now, my nails are … not good. I wasn’t born with that gene and it drives me crazy. I mean, how can I be a beauty blogger and not have good nails to try out all the fab polish colors out there? My nails are just dry and peel and there doesn’t seem to be much I’ve been able to do about. I’ve tried all those strengthening polishes but they have not seemed to do much. So just like my outlook on life, I’ve taken to trying to do something from the inside out.

I’ve been taking Glow by Nature Made® Skin Moisture + Hair & Nails, which I picked up in the supplement aisle at my local Walgreens, for the past 30 days to #MoisturizefromWithin. As you can see from the below photos taken over the last month, my nails seem to have benefited from taking care of the inside out! The key ingredient to this product are Ceramides, which is already found in cell membranes and it’s what holds skin together, and biotin, which supports healthy hair, skin and nails. So by replenishing them with moisture, which is lost from aging and other factors, they are plumped up from moisture and are able to retain it. So in laymen’s terms, my nails are able to grow!

Glow by Nature Made® supplements are able to hydrate the skin in as little as 15 days*, and are so what I nails need right now.

So now I get out of bed when the alarm goes off instead of hitting the snooze a few times, just so I have time to put some color on my newly growing fingernails!

Pick up Glow by Nature Made® Skin Moisture + Hair & Nails at your local Walgreens in the vitamin section.

And make sure to take advantage of the $3 off coupon on every box of Glow by Nature Made® at Walgreens stores nationwide.

I’m in the Mood for SPRING!

I think the heavy rain in LA is done for the season, which is great because I'm so ready for Spring. And here are a few products I’ve got on my radar that are getting me ready for the upcoming season. Hello sandals!

Check out these Spring Favorites with Cybele Says.

1. IT COSMETICS Anti-Aging Armour ($38/1oz @ itcosmetics.com) – I always make sure I have a great SPF at the beginning of each new season. This one from IT contains a SPF 50, peptides, and hyaluronic acid as well as that optically blurring technology that pretty much makes any imperfections disappear while you’re wearing it.

2. SOL DE JANEIRO Bum Bum Cream ($57/8.1oz, $25/2.5oz @ sephora.com) – what is it about this product? Is it the name? Is it the cool container? Kinda both actually and more. Pronounced (boom-boom), this luxe cream contains cupuaçu butter, acai, coconut oil and the Amazonian plant guarana, which is a major player in the caffeine department. All of these combined make for skin that’s not only taut but super smooth. And the scent of this one is soo inviting! I go in and out of craving it. I know, odd!

3. WOOSH BEAUTY Spin-On Lip Gloss ($19 @ wooshbeauty.com) – I’ve decided to revisit lip gloss again this season as I’ve been pretty distant from it and I’m starting with this one. Wow. This one really performs when it comes to the application brush. It rolls as you roll it over lips with the gloss. This is a first! Shown here in Pink Natural

4. SKINDINAVIA Post-Makeup Recovery Spray ($26/4oz, $36/8oz @ skindinavia.com) – now here’s a brand new category! A product you apply after taking makeup off, which applies nutrients like mineral zinc and willow bark, which can help with breakouts. Just spray on within 5 minutes of removing makeup to reap the benefits.

5. TRUE BRIT LONDON Nail Polish in Heirloom (£12.50 @ truebritlondon.co.uk) – this metallic rose gold shade from this new brand is so fitting right now! True Brit London is only available for purchase on their UK site right now but I’m sure it will expand.

6. HELIOCARE Dietary Supplement Sun Protection Pills ($30/60 pills @ dermstore.com) – why not fight UVA/UVB rays from the inside out? Major technology is inside these pills will not only protect it from the sun but also supply it with antioxidants. Great for all skin types!

This Nail Polish REALLY Stays Put

Sally-Hansen-Color-Therapy-nail-polish
When it comes to nail products, I’ve tried them all and will probably continue to do so, as I was just not born with that gene of strong nails. So when I heard of SALLY HANSEN Color Therapy polishes, I knew they were a must-try and a what-the-heck-I-got-nothing-to-lose!

What It Is: Color Therapy blends a complex of natural argan, acai, and evening primrose oil to condition weak, dry nails. Argan oil contains high levels of unsaturated fatty acids, as well as vitamin E, an antioxidant vital for healthy skin and nails. Acai berry oil is rich in omega-3, 6, and 9 essential fatty acids that are valued for nutrition and conditioning in skin and hair care. Evening primrose oil features essential fatty acids that are known to help reinforce hair strength.

My Take: I’m in love! I’ve pretty much given up on nail polish unless it’s a gel formula as they never seem to last on my nails no matter how much prep I do to ensure no chips. But these shades last, if you can believe it! I've rotated between 4 of the colors in the past few weeks and each seems to go about 5 days before starting to chip, and that's really good for me. And check this out – you apply the color straight to bare nails; no base coat! That way the nourishing oils can sink into the nail beds

And how great is this brush? I love when a nail company goes the extra mile and makes a good brush. It really does make a difference when applying. Also know that these are polishes are 3FREE and come in 33 shades. I think I’m officially in love!

Shown here #270 Mauve Mantra (bubblegum pink), #210 Re-nude (peach-tinged taupe), #340 Red-iance (cherry red), #190 Blushed Petal (nude), #250 Rosy Glow (fuchsia).

Available this month for $8.99 @ sallyhansen.comtarget.com

The Answer to Removing That Gel Manicure

Nailmates-main
The main reason I tend to stay away from the gel manicure is the removal process. Yes the pluses to these manicures are many: shiny nails, durability, longevity, but oy, the removal. No bueno. And heck, now that I think about it, glitter nail polish is also quite a process to remove as well.

And I was hoping for someone to come along and create an easier way to remove polishes such as these, like just a straight up super remover that can handle the task but I guess we’re not there yet. So in the meantime, I’m settling for these NAILMATES.

Votivo-Soy-Wax-Candle-in-Red-CurrantVOTIVO Boxed Glass Soy Wax Candle in Red Currant ($28/6.8oz=60 hr burn time @ dermstore.com) – I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love this Red Currant scent. And a quality candle is always a great gift to yourself or someone else.

What I’m Loving Right … Now!

What-I'm-Loving-Right-...-Now
HYLAMIDE SubQ Eyes
($35/15ml @ target.comurbanoutfitters.com) – this new-to-me line is made to work with your current skin care products in that it has the ability to penetrate deep into the skin to nourish and fix that targeted area. This SubQ Eyes contains some major ingredients to fix all around the eyes – puffiness, dark circles, hydration and fine lines. Yes, I could list all the ingredients but really, they’ll probably mean as much to you as to me. The proof is in the … serum and this one works and doesn’t take weeks to see results. So keep using the products you’re using and just add this eye serum!

BEAUTY 360 Portable Manicure Kit ($9.99 @ cvs.com) – this kit contains 5 interchangeable tips for giving yourself a manicure or pedicure at home: Buffing Tool, Emery Tool, Shaping Tool, Fine Shaping Tool and a Cuticle Pusher.

TATCHA Silken Pore Perfecting Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 35 ($68/2oz @ tatcha.com and barneys.com) – just because we’re changing seasons doesn’t mean you should ditch the sunscreen. New from Tatcha is a lightweight and non-comedogenic one that protects skin from both UVA and UVB. This one doesn’t feel greasy and I didn’t have to wait for it to absorb before applying makeup.

BUXOM True Nude Lip Foundation in Bare ($19 @ sephora.com) – not sure how I missed these when they came out a while ago but I’m glad I did. This one shown here in Bare, a chestnut brown, looks like a regular ol’ lipstick but it adheres to lips beautifully and acts more like a liquid lipstick. And it dries down to a super matte finish that doesn’t budget for hours. I’m in! Available in 7 shades

VOTRE VU Silk Stockings ($34/4.06oz @ votrevu.com) – nylons are still so uncool to wear but sometimes you want a little color but not a tan. This skin nourisher will give skin a dash of glow and it contains some  nourishing ingredients like vitamin E and extracts of calendula and Saint John’s wort. And what’s great about it is that it won’t wear off until you wash it off.

Here's What's New @ CVS/pharmacy

While I like my birthday, I hate when I receive a gift that really makes me question if the giver even knows me or not, so that’s why a gift card to CVS/pharmacy Beauty Club is perfect for me!

And they are rolling out some new brands for fall, so the timing is great. New brands to the stores/website: Skin+Pharmacy, MUA, Jouviance, Pop-Arazzi, Promise Organic, and Wilma Schumann.

CVS-pharmacy-new-products

Here's what I picked up on my trip to my local store:

  • Wilma Schumann Hydrating Collagen Eye Pads ($18/5 pairs)
  • Pop-Arazzi Nail Polish in Spice is Nice ($2.99)
  • Juviance Exfoliant Gentle Purifying Scrub ($22/3.4oz)
  • Promise Ultra-Moisturizing Argan Crème Lotion with Shea Butter ($8.99/6oz)

I went a little over $50 on the card, but that’s ok as I'm filing the difference as a birthday present to myself!

Disclosure: I rec'd a $50 gift card in order to facilitate this review.

Is This Your Answer to a Perfect Manicure?

When I first saw KISS’ imPRESS Press-On Manicure kits, I thought they were nails for kids because they looked really small in the pack! I was so wrong. These are just a super wearable length for everyday wear as you can see from the photo of the Shimmer style on I’m wearing in the below picture.

Kiss-imPRESS-Press-On-Manicure-in-Shimmer

Each pack comes with 30 nails total (24 nails and 6 accent nails) in 12 sizes, 1 prep pad, 1 mini file. And to apply the, simply remove the clear tab on the back of the chosen nail, and press to your nail bed. These use a pressure sensitive adhesive technology to stay on, even in water! So while the nails don’t fit my nail beds to a T, for $6.99/pack, you really can’t complain, can you? See my list of pros and cons after the jump!
