There’s been deafening buzz over this next line that just came to the States and it’s right up my alley. While I don’t tend to wear a lot of makeup, I sure like to look at people who do and I mean that in a good AND bad way! Available exclusively @ Sephora and sephora.com, ILLAMASQUA was created by a few makeup artists in the UK last year and is not for the faint of heart. It stems from 1920s Berlin club scene (was there even one back then??) and combines a rich heritage of makeup for film and theater. Add in a touch of inspiration from the alternative for whom self-expression is vital and you get this line. And available now @ net-a-porter.com.
And we’re not talking about 4 or 5 products. They offer a full line of colors for lips, eyes, nails and face & body, over 60 products total to be sold in the States.
The face and eye products come in what I’m calling a squround black lacquer case (square and round). Here’s a brand that understands that packaging is just as important as the product inside. I mean, you want people to pick your product up, right? Must. Have. Enticing. Packaging.
Couple of stand outs at first try from L to R:
Cream Blusher in Rude, a warm coral pink ($23),Sheer Lipgloss in Divine, a vibrant pink ($19), Pure Pigment in Involve, a violet shimmer ($24).
There are only 24 products available at Sephora right now but hopefully they will add more of this fab line in the coming months.
