Review+Swatches - Illamasqua Theatre of the Nameless

This rich and indulgent collection envelops the senses. Darkly sophisticated tones are accompanied by shocks of dazzling iridescence, creating a breathtakingly modern interpretation of the most illicit nightlife in history.

I just got my hands on some of ILLAMASQUA’s Theatre of the Nameless collection. Here are pics of what I tried.

Swatch - Illamasqua Liquid Metal in Phenomena

Illamasqua-Liquid-Metal-with-borderI really love metallics and metal colors when it comes to liners, shadows and nail polishes. Here’s the pics of ILLAMASQUA’s Liquid Metal in Phenomena ($26 @ illamasqua.com). What looks so pigmented in the container like one of those liquid silver markers is actually pretty wearable and a nice highlighter.

Product Review: Illamasqua Intense Lipgloss

Illamasqua-Lip-Gloss-swatch-in-Hermetic I wore this burgundy plum gloss from  ILLAMASQUA both Friday and Saturday night and got a lot of complements on it. It’s their Intense Lipgloss in Hermetic ($20 @ net-a-porter.com) and seems such a good color for right now. It's pretty thick so I would use a lip brush to apply it out of the tube.

2010 Spring Color Pick - Green!

I was in Banana Republic over the weekend looking or some springy tops and they had nothing. Everything was grays and beiges! Huh? How is that anyway to welcome the spring season?! That got me thinking. What colors are you feeling right now? I’m jumping on the green bandwagon. Not so much the pastel green but the Green-products true greens. Here are some I’m sporting right now:

SPA RITUAL Nail Lacquer in Yes, I Can ($10 @ dermstore.com) – grass green cream.

BLOOM Shadow Liner in Emerald Green – ($24.99 @ bloomcosmetics.com) - metallic emerald green.

ILLAMASQUA Powder Eye Shadow in Stalk ($20 @ asos.com) - matte teal green.

GUERLAIN Terracotta Fard Indien Mineral Eyeshadow in Jungle Dust ($35 @ bloomingdales.com) – deep green shimmer.

If you are looking to stay within the season's color trends, the one from Guerlain is spot on Pantone's radar of their Dried Herb pick. This one here looks like dried oregano!

I'll be picking my favorite products that are on point with this seasons picks to be sure to check back. Is there any color trend that you are most into these days?

Illamasqua - The Buzz Heard 'Round the World

There’s been deafening buzz over this next line that just came to the States and it’s right up my alley. While I don’t tend to wear a lot of makeup, I sure like to look at people who do and I mean that in a good AND bad way! Available exclusively @ Sephora and sephora.com, ILLAMASQUA was created by a few makeup artists in the UK last year and is not for the faint of heart. It stems from 1920s Berlin club scene (was there even one back then??) and combines a rich heritage of makeup for film and theater. Add in a touch of inspiration from the alternative for whom self-expression is vital and you get this line. And available now @ net-a-porter.com.

And we’re not talking about 4 or 5 products. They offer a full line of colors for lips, eyes, nails and face & body, over 60 products total to be sold in the States.

The face and eye products come in what I’m calling a squround black lacquer case (square and round). Here’s a brand that understands that packaging is just as important as the product inside. I mean, you want people to pick your product up, right? Must. Have. Enticing. Packaging.

Couple of stand outs at first try from L to R:

Cream Blusher in Rude, a warm coral pink ($23),Sheer Lipgloss in Divine, a vibrant pink ($19), Pure Pigment in Involve, a violet shimmer ($24).

There are only 24 products available at Sephora right now but hopefully they will add more of this fab line in the coming months.
