How are you taming your hair this season? Each year I pick a go-to style where it’s up off my neck. In the past, I’ve had hair almost down to my waist so I was able to get pretty creative. I feel like everyone is in the spring cleaning frame-of-mind right now! I went to a party over the weekend and the hosts had all kinds of items set aside in their garage for a yard sale this coming weekend. No, I didn’t go and see if there was anything in the stash I wanted to buy. I was good!

Spring is here, finally, and though we here in Los Angeles certainly did not get the brunt of the storms this past season; I’m still hankering for the warmth and mega sunshine. Each year my family and I designate a specific March weekend day to do what we call, the “change over,” where we each go through our own clothes, shoes, etc. and pull the winter items out we want to store. Each of us puts our items in the hallway and my husband comes by with a huge bin (sometimes two) marked 'winter' where everything goes in and it goes downstairs for the season.

Do you do something like this? After the clothes are taken care of, I immediately visit the beauty closet to change up my products for the season. You should always change in your beauty routine and products based on the time of year. In the colder months, heavier creams are great and also darker nails colors, etc., whereas with the warmer times of year like spring and summer, body oils, fruity-smelling products and pastel shadows are my thing.

File this next product under ‘how did I miss this??’ I grew up with very knotty hair. It was quite a task to untangle it after a bath/shower. My hair would grow really long and my mother would get so frustrated and cut it all off. I was asked a few times if I was a boy back then.

Lotta buzz around the word ‘superfood’ lately, or at least on my blog, and we have one here for the hair. When I think of superfood, I don’t really think of something for the strands but it makes sense but the PUREOLOGY brand has come out with their definition of it with these two Superfood Treatments for hair. One is the Hydrate Superfood Treatment and the other is Strength Cure Superfood Treatment.

Both are vegan and silicone-free and great for this time of year.

How much do you pay attention to what’s in your beauty products? Specifically, hair care products? I do somewhat because of this website but the long list of ingredient names can be a little confusing, so here is NATURALL CLUB to help take some of the guess work out of it.

I recently tried their Fresh Avocado Deep Conditioner ($19/4oz = two servings @ naturallclub.com) and I have to say with the two times I used it, I was delighted each time. Since we are in the dead of winter, my strands can use the extra moisture that these deliver. Check out the ingredients in the Dull Hair Solution one I tried: avocados, water, shea butter, extra virgin oil, avocado oil, honey, coconut oil, tea tree oil, lavender essential oil, vitamin E, guar gum (made of actual beans and used for its thickening and stabilizing properties) and citric acid.
