Two Delights from Golden Door
There’s nothing I love more than a good body scrub! Some days I choose a sugar scrub but when I need a really thorough exfoliation, I reach for a salt scrub like this one GOLDEN DOOR. Their Hinoki Pacific Salt Body Scrub ($58/8oz) is really thick and rich with salt, from the Dead Sea, and nourishing-for-skin ingredients like safflower seed oil, olive oil and jojoba. What’s interesting about this scrub is the lavender oil it includes, and while it’s not unique at all, it’s unique in that I totally don’t hate it. When I started this site many years ago, I didn’t mind the smell of lavender but as time when on, I’ve grown to dislike it, but I actually like it in this scrub. Maybe it’s because of the other ingredients it mixes with like the Hinoki, a Japanese Cedar blend, which is kind of woodsy and spicy and historically used to refresh the soul. So soothing and snuggly!
After a nice scrub down, I’ve been slathering on their Hinoki Body Moisturizer ($44/8oz). The first ingredient in this one is not water, but aloe juice. How rare is that? And this one also includes jojoba oil, sesame oil and Shea Butter (the third ingredient listed!).
And if the benefits inside these two don’t sway you, how about the fact that 100% of Golden Door’s profits are given to select charities whose goal is to transform the lives of children? Happy holidays.
