Fab Fall Fragrances

These new fragrances here got me thinking - What I wouldn’t give to shadow a “nose” around for a week for a crash course of "A Day in the Life." I’m sure 90% of what they do, I can’t even imagine!

These scents here are kinda day/kinda eve and I’ve been alternating between them for the past few weeks as they are each so different from one another.

ELIE SAAB Le Parfum ($60/1oz, $90/3oz, $120/6.7oz @ – no wonder I like this one! It was created by world-renowned perfumer Francis Kurkdjian and I really think he/they hit it out of the ballpark with this one. I don’t know that last time I ripped a fragrance page out of a magazine but I did with this one! It’s based on a floral, solar, woody theme and boasts notes of orange blossom, jasmine, rose honey, patchouli and cedar. Simply stunning!

Spring Product Picks!

Givenchy-Candide-Garden-Eye-Shadow-Quad-Smashbox-Chanel-Rouge-Coco-Shine GIVENCHY hit it on the head with this Le Prism Eyeshadow Quartet in Candide Garden from their Spring 2011 Collection. The 3 pastels are so spring and the chocolate brown is a nice contour shade that blends with each beautifully. $56 @

I am such a lip stain fan and always have been. And while I really like this SMASHBOX Limitless Lip Stain & Color Seal Balm, why the roughness of the pen on the stain application side? I mean, does it help with the application of staying power? This is not the first marker-type stain I have used but the ouchie part seems to be a trend. It feels like a low-grade sandpaper!
Anyway, this one comes in 6 different colors and is good one for when you are on your way to the mall to try on clothes. Who wants to worry about lipstick or gloss when pulling something with the tags attached over your head? Color picks Berry (muted raspberry) and Guave (bright coral orange). $23 @

So what is CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine exactly? It’s not a lip gloss and a little bit sheerer than a lipstick so if just a touch of color is more your thing, you may want to try these out. They come in 18 shades. $32 @

Givenchy's New Impressions Spring-Summer Collection

Givenchy-Mono-Eye-Shadow-in-Dressy-Indigo Ooo, how I am feeling the bright colors of Spring right now and GIVENCHY’s Le Prisme Mono Eyeshadow in Dressy Indigo ($29) is four shades of dark blue jean blue is hitting the spot today. Go from day to night with one compact!

The other item from their Spring-Summer 2010 Collection I am loving is Le Prisme Powder Blush in It-Girl Purple. Not sure why it’s called It-Girl Purple as all four shades are pretty pinky as you can see in the picture I took here. The squares are pretty small though so to just concentrate on one or two of the shades at a time. Barbie would be in heaven with this one!

Givenchy Les Poetiques Collection

This GIVENCHY Les Poétiques 2009 Autumn-Winter Collection has to be one of my favorite color collections for fall. I can wear all of the products below and not be overdone! I mean, soft and tender pinks with accents of metallic blue and beiges? Givenchy – It Does A Face Good!

  • Parad’Eyes Fluid Eye Liner in Poetique Lavender, a violet blue ($27)
  • Phenom’Eyes in Poetique Grey Lavender ($28)
  • Rouge Interdit Satin Lipstick in Poetique Iris, a mauvey pink ($27)
  • Prismissime Eyes 9-Colors Eyeshadow in Poetic Browns ($53)

I almost feel like I need to have bright lips when it comes to most of these colors but if I rock this fluid liner, the muted lipstick works well.

Givenchy Has One for the Oilies

Givenchy-Mister-Mat It’s almost a requirement to wear primer under your makeup in the summertime, otherwise you risk it sliding right off your face before you’ve even left the house. GIVENCHY just put out Mister Mat Mattifying Foundation Primer ($30/.8oz @ Got oily? Then this one is made for you as it has ingredients to help control sebum production. It also contains those light-refracting properties found in a lot of foundations these days, so get to matting!
