Fresh Sugar Strawberry Exfoliating Face Wash

Fresh-Sugar-Strawberry-Exfoliating-Face-Wash
With all the crazy to-do over the component used in physical exfoliators, and rightfully so, I’m really liking this one that uses the power of both the chemical and the physical to remove dead skin. It’s the Sugar Strawberry Exfoliating Face Wash ($33/4.2oz @ fresh.com, sephora.com) from FRESH. Like makeup primer, a good face scrub is essential these days, not only to keep skin looking and feeling great but also to help makeup sit right on the skin and for skin care to be able to do their magic without having to make their way through dead skin cells.

Overnight Face Masks from Fresh & SK-II

Fresh-Black-Tea-Firming-Overnight-Mask-and-SK-II-Overnight-Miracle-Mask
Overnight Masks? Yup, it’s a thing that’s been around for a few now and they have quite a few benefits and I’m a total fan these days. I have to admit, when I first heard of them a few years ago all I thought was, “Doesn’t the mask get all over the pillowcase?” Ummm, not really. I mean, you don’t apply it and then jump right into bed. The ones I’ve tried seem to sink in rather quickly but even if some did get on the pillowcase, it’s just a pillowcase and can be washed, right?

So what are these for?

FRESH FreshFace Instant Glow Luminizer

Fresh-FreshFace-Instant-Glow-Luminizer-2
Since the temps have cooled down a bit, I don’t have to worry about sweating more than usual when I’m out and about so break out the extra steps! Yes, I consider adding highlighter or bronzer (most times) an extra step when it comes to putting my face on but I’ve been trying to make more time for it.

The latest one to come sailing across my desk is FRESH FreshFace Instant Glow Luminizer ($38/1oz @ fresh.com) and wow does this one have a lot of uses.

First, let me tell you about the finish. It has no glitter, but what they call a microshimmer, or I think, more of just a luminous glow and it’s very slight at that. Since I have a heavy hand when it comes to applying makeup, this is great for me!

Fresh-FreshFace-Instant-Glow-Luminizer-back

I tried this one under foundation, over foundation and solo and I think it works best under foundation and solo. The look it gave me under foundation was one of, I’m-not-sure-what’s-different-but-it’s-good; subtle and little boost.

A few things you should know about the formula – it contains some good-for-skin ingredients like vitamin C, meadowfoam seed oil, cucumber extract and evening primrose. Now I’m not sure how much these ingredients can really help the skin because the amount you use of this cream is not that much unless you apply it all over the face. This one also has a really nice fragrance that seems to be cucumber, which is really nice.

Fresh Goes Deep... with Roses

Fresh-Rose-Deep-Hydrating-Facial-Toner
This new toner from FRESH is soooo right now! We are officially in flower season and roses are probably the most popular ones out there, so it makes sense that they’d put this Rose Deep Hydration Facial Toner ($44/8.4oz @ fresh.com, sephora.com). It also makes sense since rose essential oil has a variety of benefits when it comes to skin care: anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, get rid of acne, moisturizing, antiseptic and astringent, among other uses.

Their formula contains two species of roses in it, Rosa Centifolia Flower and Rosa Damascena Flower Water and Oil as well as Hyaluronic Acid for giving the skin a little plump!

I love using this after cleansing but also just during the day if my skin is kinda feeling the day and could use a quick cleanse or cooling off. And I love the way they put actual roses inside the bottle. Nice detail.

Fresh Keeps Skin in Tip-Top Shape this Season

Fresh-Vitamin-Nectar-Vibrancy-Boosting-Face-Mask
Do you have a favorite kind of mask to use? I like the rich clay ones and then the ones like this that are packed full of chunky good-for-skin ingredients, almost good enough to eat!

FRESH calls their new Vitamin Nectar Vibrancy-Boosting Face Mask ($62/3.3oz @ fresh.com, nordstrom.com) skin nutrition and I can see why. It’s packed full of AHA (alpha hydroxyl acids) fruit acids like vitamins C, E and B5 as well as lemon and orange extracts and minerals to give the skin a full exfoliation and then some.

This is a use 2 to 3 times a week and leave it on the skin for 10 minutes.

If you’ve felt your skin is looking a little ruddy lately, this would be a good one to try. And like I’ve come to expect from the skin care products from Fresh, it smells sooo good!

Are you putting this one on your list this season?

April Beauty Favorites

April-Favorites-2
As we come to the close of April, I’ve been frantically testing out products I think are worthy of getting the favorite of the month tag. Here are a few I recommend.

1. FRESH Sugar Sport Treatment Sunscreen SPF 30 ($25 @ fresh.com, sephora.com) – Since it’s in a stick form, you can slide it in your purse and never worry about spillage. Now there’s no excuse for not wearing SPF, right?

2. IT COSMETICS Heavenly Luxe You Sculpted! #18 Contour & Highlight Brush ($34.50 @ itcosmetics.com) - So why don’t I have a brush like this in my collection? I didn’t realize how much I needed one in this shape until I saw this one! Isn’t that always the case? Love this one for (trying) to sculpt my cheeks and to brush under the jaw line.

3. KISS USA Ruby Kisses Matte Lipstick in Red Mangrove ($2.99 @ kissusa.com) – Wait, did you even know this brand made anything beside lashes and fake nails? I didn’t! I saw a few YouTube videos raving about their matte lipsticks so I had to try them and they are really all that. If you like a little moisture with your matte lippies then these are for you and how about that price?? I picked mine up at my local beauty supply store.

4. BENEFIT COSMETICS Dandelion Shy Beam Liquid Highlighter ($26 @ benefitcosmetics.com) – This is such a nice matte pinky nude highlighter that can be use anywhere on the face. Lately it’s been ruling the tops of my cheeks.

5. CLINIQUE Pep-Start Eye Cream ($26.50 @ clinique.com and sephora.com) – I’ve never needed an eye cream more than in the last few months for some reason. #aging. This one is light on the skin and on the purse strings. It hydrates, depuffs and really seems to wake me up.

6. ELIE SAAB ‘Le Parfum Rose Couture’ Eau de Toilette ($80/1.6oz, $108/3oz only @ nordstrom.com) – Anything rose always welcomes springtime for me and I’ve worn this one non-stop since I got it. Orange flower, jasmine, rose nectar, vetiver, sandalwood, patchouli, mandarin tree blossom, gardenia and warm honey rose. Every note says feminine.

7. TARTE COSMETICS Rainforest of the Sea Wipeout Color-Correcting Palette ($45 @ dermstore.comsephora.com) – You don’t need to suffer from any kind of discolorations on your skin anymore! Color-correcting is all the rage for a reason. It works! This one has 6 creams shades to get your skin on point.

4 Favorite Spring Scents

My nose seems to come out of hibernation this time of year when the seasons change and everything just smells so much richer right now. Here are some of my favorites I can’t get enough of! What are some of your favorites?

4-Favorite-Spring-Scents

CLEAN Blossom Eau de Parfum ($40/1oz, $72/2.14oz @ ulta.comcleanperfume.com) – released early this year, this one seems to fit perfectly right now. This floral contains notes of neroli, lilac, orange blossom, lily and musk and sandalwood. Super feminine and a little heavier than a traditional floral.

FRESH Rose Deep Hydration Cream ($40/1oz @ freshbeauty.com and sephora.com) – made for normal to dry skin, I almost like applying some of this each night just to smell the roses! This cream will increase the skin’s hydration by including hyaluronic acids in it as well as rosewater and vitamin E to nourish.

SALVATORE FERRAGAMO Emozione Dolce Fiore Eau de Toilette ($79/1.7oz, $99/3.1oz @ macys.com) – this floral releases top notes of bergamot, grapefruit and white peach, heart notes of rose buds and peony and a base of white musk, vanilla and suede. Really unique and calming.

ST. IVES Nourished & Smooth Oatmeal Body Scrub ($5.99/9oz @ target.com) – this gentle body scrub uses walnut shell powder to slough off the rough winter skin to reveal a softer side.
