Every woman should have at least 1 great red lipstick they turn to when they really want to turn it up. And right now is such a great time to find your perfect red as there are so many choices – tints, mattes, creams, liquids, metallics. So what’s your go-to?

FENTY BEAUTY BY RIHANNA Lip Paint Longwear Fluid Lip Color in Unsensored - $24 @ sephora.com – the newest one to be added to my heavily-trafficked reds. This is a long-wearing liquid lipstick. It does transfer so be wicked careful you don’t transfer it unknowingly, which is always my problem! It’s worth it for the shade and pigment this one

SEPHORA COLLECTION #Lipstories Lipstick in #26 All Washed Up, matte, $8 @ sephora.com - this is one of their mattes from the new #Lipstories collection. I thought this would be a faint red but wow, was I wrong! The intensity is about 2 steps down from a liquid lipstick. Nice job SC!

MAYBELLINE Super Stay Matte Ink in #20 Pioneer - $7.99 @ target.com - one of my favorite all-time liquid lipstick products! If you're going to wear red, it's got to be precise and stay on through eating and drinking and this one does!

MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Liquid Matte Lipstick in #403 Deep Red - $20 @ sephora.com - another liquid lipstick that is bold in pigment. This one is more on the orange side of the red family. 

NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Mysterious Red - $27 @ narscosmetics.com, sephora.com - this is a good red if you're not up for the time commitment of a liquid lipstick and it works as a two-in-one lip liner and lip color. 

RIMMEL Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour in Fire Starter - $5.49 @ walgreens.com - these liquid lipsticks from Rimmel are becoming a top pick from me. All the factors are covered - the color intensity, the way they wear, and the length of time I get out of them and of course, how comfortable they are. Big recommendation!

This is my first product I'm trying by FENTY BEAUTY BY RIHANNA! This line has pretty much been the talk of the town since launched a few months ago so of course I was curious.

Stunna Lip Paint Longwear Fluid Lip Color in Unsensored ($24 @ sephora.com, jcpenney.com) is described as the perfect universal red and I must agree. Every woman should have a red lippie in their arsenal and if you don’t, this is one you should pick up tout suite!

Ok, so let’s get into the details. This is a liquid lipstick that that dries all the way down but has some transfer. It’s really pigmented so you only need one swipe with the wand. Speaking of, they really put some extra attention into the application wand. It’s shaped like a typical pointed doe foot but they widened the top and made one of the sides roundish and flat. This totally helps with getting full coverage on the first pass.

So how does this red compare to other reds in my liquid lipstick collection as far as wearability? It performed better than most but was not the top one. I love how comfortable it is but since it is a tad transferable, I have to make sure I don’t mindlessly rub my nose or something possibly transferring color to it or elsewhere, which I’ve done many times before! That’s why I’m not a huge fan of ones that transfer.

In the handful of times I’ve worn this, it didn’t fair very well when it came to eating/drinking and wore off in the inside lip line, which is pretty typical for most liquid lipsticks. If I didn’t eat/drink anything that touched my lips, I got about 7 hours of wear with this one before needing to touch it up. 7 hours is certainly not the longest but this is red and red seems to be one of the toughest shades for brands to get super longevity out of like lighter colors. The blue-red of Unsensored is just a gorgeous pinup red shade so I’m working with what it offers just to wear it.
