Review+Swatches - Feeling Summery with Emani

Why is it that a name of product's packaging says something different from what a company has it listed as on their website? This isn’t the first time I have seen this but it makes things mucho confusing when looking for a product and I can’t even imagine how many sales a brand has missed out on because of this. Anyway, yes, the EMANI line seems to have this going on but I am looking past it and just at the products, since that’s what I should do, even though I have to make note of it.

The latest are right in line with summer’s bright and fun colors. Here’s what I tried:

Mineral Hybrid Cream in 1040 Love Addict ($18) – each of these mosaic eye shadows is handmade, so no two are the same and this color can really be worn as a blush and on lips too. LOVE this color!

Emani-Hybrid-Cream-Color-open-caseLuscious Lip Gloss in 1120 Rock Groupie ($16) – in the tube it looks like a bright luminous purple pink but it’s sheerer than I expected. Still rockin’ though!

The Softest Synthetic Makeup Brush ... Ever!

Have you ever thought about how your makeup brushes are sourced? Where the hairs that are used come from? Are they even made from real hair? The PETA certified line EMANI takes the guess work out of it with their line of vegan makeup brushes. They are made of nylon filament but my question is, how do they make them so darn soft? I think they could be softer than those made with real hair!

Getting Into Liquid Minerals with Emani Minerals

Emani-Minerals-Hydrating-Liquid-Foundaiton-2 You know my love of liquid mineral foundation. There are not many out there so when I do come across one, I jump. The latest one I tried is from the Vegan-friendly line EMANI MINERALS. I wasn’t familiar with the brand so here’s their background in a nutshell – the mineral-based line was founded in 1998 with the objective of creating a high end line that’s formulated without parabens, talc, dyes or perfumes and uses 100% recycled paper goods. Wow, all qualities I think the average makeup wearer is concerned about.

It seems like evening out the skin tone is at the bottom of the trait list for this Hydrating Liquid Mineral Foundation ($26/.5oz @ emani.com) as it does more than double-duty. This foundation is enriched in vitamin A (for aging) and Hyaluronic Acid (helps with water retention) and jojoba, sesame and safflower oils to smooth and hydrate the skin. And of course Titanium-Dioxide for SPF. It gives a medium to full coverage that is buildable and the finish and the Crème Beige was the perfect shade for my skin tone. Sometimes a mineral powder just isn’t the answer!
