To say that I have grown to be a huge fan of the ELIE SAAB perfume collection is an understatement. I mean, I’ve featured so many of her fragrances on the site over the years and I don’t seem to be slowing down.

The latest one is what’s being ordered up for summer, The Resort Collection. And again it’s created by renowned perfumer Francis Kurkdjian. And I’d call this a fruity floral. Just look at these notes: white flowers, red mandarin, open the scent, frangipani accord, pomegranate, and orange blossom, jasmine are at the heart and Indonesian patchouli is the base. 

So how does it fair against the others? Some days I love it and other days, I don’t. I have a handful of fragrance in my collection where I have to be in the mood to wear it and this one seems to fall into that category. Now I’m really into fruity florals but this one is a heavier one than what I’m used to and again, I have to have an outfit at ready to go with this scent because when it works, it really works!

As we come to the close of April, I’ve been frantically testing out products I think are worthy of getting the favorite of the month tag. Here are a few I recommend. 

1. FRESH Sugar Sport Treatment Sunscreen SPF 30 ($25 @ fresh.com, sephora.com) – Since it’s in a stick form, you can slide it in your purse and never worry about spillage. Now there’s no excuse for not wearing SPF, right?

2. IT COSMETICS Heavenly Luxe You Sculpted! #18 Contour & Highlight Brush ($34.50 @ itcosmetics.com) - So why don’t I have a brush like this in my collection? I didn’t realize how much I needed one in this shape until I saw this one! Isn’t that always the case? Love this one for (trying) to sculpt my cheeks and to brush under the jaw line. 

3. KISS USA Ruby Kisses Matte Lipstick in Red Mangrove ($2.99 @ kissusa.com) – Wait, did you even know this brand made anything beside lashes and fake nails? I didn’t! I saw a few YouTube videos raving about their matte lipsticks so I had to try them and they are really all that. If you like a little moisture with your matte lippies then these are for you and how about that price?? I picked mine up at my local beauty supply store.

4. BENEFIT COSMETICS Dandelion Shy Beam Liquid Highlighter ($26 @ benefitcosmetics.com) – This is such a nice matte pinky nude highlighter that can be use anywhere on the face. Lately it’s been ruling the tops of my cheeks.

5. CLINIQUE Pep-Start Eye Cream ($26.50 @ clinique.com and sephora.com) – I’ve never needed an eye cream more than in the last few months for some reason. #aging. This one is light on the skin and on the purse strings. It hydrates, depuffs and really seems to wake me up.

6. ELIE SAAB ‘Le Parfum Rose Couture’ Eau de Toilette ($80/1.6oz, $108/3oz only @ nordstrom.com) – Anything rose always welcomes springtime for me and I’ve worn this one non-stop since I got it. Orange flower, jasmine, rose nectar, vetiver, sandalwood, patchouli, mandarin tree blossom, gardenia and warm honey rose. Every note says feminine.

7. TARTE COSMETICS Rainforest of the Sea Wipeout Color-Correcting Palette ($45 @ dermstore.com, sephora.com) – You don’t need to suffer from any kind of discolorations on your skin anymore! Color-correcting is all the rage for a reason. It works! This one has 6 creams shades to get your skin on point.

Even though it’s December, can you believe it’s still fall? The first day of winter is December 22^nd so we still have a little time to talk about fall fragrances. Here are a four I’m digging!

ELIE SAAB Le Parfum, Eau de Parfum – L’Edition Argent ($124/3oz @ neimanmarcus.com) – I get week in the knees when it comes to Elie Saab scents. This latest release seems built for a sexy night out on the town but maybe, and that’s a big maybe, can be worn during the day. My jury is still out on that. It highlights top notes of orange blossom, middle notes of royal and sambac jasmine absolutes and a pure “heart of patchouli.”

ELIZABETH AND JAMES Nirvana White ($100/3.4oz, $80/1.7oz, $60/1oz, $25/.34oz (all edps) @ sephora.com) – this one will fit all my holiday evening party needs. If you’re looking for a warm, rich scent with notes of peony, muguet and tender musk, this could be the one for you. The dry-down is really unique.

LISA HOFFMAN Tunisian Neroli Eau de Parfum Spray ($22/15ml travel size @ lisahoffmanbeauty.com) – a travel-sized scent is great in every nook of your life – home, purse, stored in the car. You just can’t go wrong with purchasing one! And this floral combines Ylang-Ylang, Golden Amber, Neroli Blossoms with Lemon with Buchu Leaf. I can’t get enough of this one!

L’OCCITANE Jasmin Immortelle Neroli Eau de Toilette ($62/2.5oz @ loccitane.com) – the brand  partnered with pastry chef, yup, pastry chef, Pierre Hermé for two uniquely dynamic fragrances, and this one has become a fast favorite.

I know it has to be finally warming up where you are now that Spring is officially here so it’s time to think scents as in, time to update what fragrances you’ll be wearing this season. Here are 3 new favorites.

ELIE SAAB ‘Le Parfum’ Resort Collection EDT ($98/3oz @ amazon.com) – if rose isn’t your thing, then perhaps this watery/fruity floral will be. Created by world famous nose, Francis Kurkdjian, he’s included top notes of mandarin and fig, middle notes of jasmin, organge flower and frangipani flower and a base of cedar and luminous amber.

AERIN Rose de Grasse Parfum Spray ($185/1.7oz @ neimanmarcus.com) – nothing says springtime more than roses and this one blends 3 precious rose ingredients in the bottle. This is also the first launch in the Premier Collection, which will be a celebration of rare, expensive and artisanal perfumes by the brand.

Eau de Gaga 001 Eau de Parfum ($34/1.7oz @ ice.com) I’ve kinda shied away from the whole celebrity fragrance trend even though I did like one that I sniffed a few years ago. But I swear, if I did a blind sniff of this one from Ms. Ga, I would swear it was put out by Juliette Has A Gun or Agent Provocateur … seriously! This latest one is unisex and described as a woody-floral opening with notes of sparkling lime, white violet and a base of leather.

ESTEE LAUDER Modern Muse Chic - $60/1oz, $80/1.7oz, $100/3.4oz @ esteelauder.com and neimanmarcus.com. Slightly stronger than the original Modern Muse, this eau de parfum floral woody musk has true staying power! Top notes include plum and Artemisia, middle, jasmine sambac, tuberose and lily, and base notes of cashmere wood, oud, and vanilla, among others.

ELIE SAAB Le Parfum L’Edition Or - $120/3oz @ selfridges.com. This one falls under the oriental floral and I’ve fallen under its spell! One of my favorite scents of the season with the orange blossom, jasmine absolute and cedarwood-honey rose accords. And I guess it’s so limited edition that I could only find it selling at the above location.

GIORGIO ARMANI 'Si' Eau de Parfum - $70/1oz, $90/1.7oz, $115/3.4oz @ sephora.com, ulta.com. This is one of those unique chypre scents and includes fruity notes of Sicilian bergamot, mandarin oil and Egyptian jasmine absolute. Say yes to this!

AERIN Waterlily Sun Eau de Parfum Spray - $110/1.7oz @ neimanmarcus.com, aerin.com. Sicilian Bergamot and dewy greens layered onto Waterlily, Jasmine Sambac on a base of musk. If you don’t like to smell like anyone else, you might want to give this one a whiff.

These new fragrances here got me thinking - What I wouldn’t give to shadow a “nose” around for a week for a crash course of "A Day in the Life." I’m sure 90% of what they do, I can’t even imagine!

These scents here are kinda day/kinda eve and I’ve been alternating between them for the past few weeks as they are each so different from one another.

ELIE SAAB Le Parfum ($60/1oz, $90/3oz, $120/6.7oz @ ice.com) – no wonder I like this one! It was created by world-renowned perfumer Francis Kurkdjian and I really think he/they hit it out of the ballpark with this one. I don’t know that last time I ripped a fragrance page out of a magazine but I did with this one! It’s based on a floral, solar, woody theme and boasts notes of orange blossom, jasmine, rose honey, patchouli and cedar. Simply stunning!
