Yes, we just passed the most gift-giving time of year but you will have more times come up throughout the year where you need a great gift. One of my favorites to give? A fragrances complementing lotion or cream. I find it's usually something someone doesn't buy themselves and finding out their favorite or signature fragrance is rather easy.

Now that we’ve hit a new season, do you find yourself changing up your fragrance? You should! Light summery florals just don’t really cut it this time of year. That’s why I pay attention to the ones coming out right now to see which ones include favorite notes of mine. Here are two topping my list right now.

ESTEE LAUDER 'Modern Muse' Eau de Parfum Spray ($58/1oz, $78/1.7oz, $98/3.4oz @ neimanmarcus.com) – falling into the category of lush floral woody, I would recommend this one for eves out on the town. Super feminine yet confident, this one marries exotic mandarin, honeysuckle nectar, dewy petals with jasmine sambac, china absolute, tuberose, fresh lily on a base of patchoulie Coeur, patchouli crist, amber wood, soft musk and Madagascar vanilla. That’s a lot of heavy base notes!

CHLOE See by Chloe Paint a Scent Eau de Parfum ($35/.5oz @ sephoracom) - like a rollerball, you can dab a little on in public without worrying about annoying anyone around you with the scent. The brush looks like a nail polish brush in that the bristles are quite long but I do have concern that  like a rollerball, will the scent get contaminated by applying it and then putting the brush back into the scent?

So how’s the scent? Overall, I’m a fan of the brand’s fragrances and this one is no exception. Described as a floral, this one blends bergamot with apple blossom accord and jasmine with sandalwood and vanilla. This one seems to be a really easy scent to wear.

Spring is next week and I’m so glad I have my signature scent all in place and ready to go. It’s L’Eau de CHLOE and this one just screams “I am perfect for spring!” This one is fruity and floral and 100% feminine with notes of grapefruit, cedrat, peach, violet, rose petals, natural water of rose, cedarwood, patchouli on a base of amber. And here’s a unique twist, the perfumer, Michael Almairax replaced the original’s rose note with 22% concentration of rose water, which is totally apparent upon first sniff.

Know that this is an Eau de Toilette so it’s pretty light and fits the composition. I’m not sure this has anything to do with the form but I wish it has a longer hang life on my skin as I really do like it but then again, this scent doesn’t walk in the door before you do, so maybe that’s better. I’ve had experience with scents that really hover in your own personal space and I think this is one of those cases. I’m slightly torn on this one. $65/1.7oz, $85/3.4oz @ sephora.com.
