Brow products are getting better and better these days. What seemed to have started as just using a brown pencil to make brows has evolved into a whole beauty category. And what’s also great about these developments is the number of choices out there for us consumers – gel pens, creams, markers, pencils.

For the longest time I would only wear liquid liners in black but I have come a long way from there and there are so many great formulas to choose from. Two shades I’m adding to my list are CHELLA’s Eyeliner Pen ($24 @ chella.com) in Purple and Indigo Blue.

These are those liquid liners where once they’re set, they won’t move for hours.

I like the super skinny tip and these applied smoothly with very little bleeding (before drying down) and no skipping along the lid, which is very important.

Overall, I think the Indigo Blue performed a little better than the Purple in terms of its longevity and smoothness.

Strobing? Highlighting? Bronzing? No matter which you choose to do, they’re all hot now. Do you have a favorite? I find that highlighting/strobing 2 features max in any look is more than enough. I mean, you want to look natural, just better, and not completely fake.

Here are 5 that I’ve been using the past few weeks. Do you see a favorite?

1. LUNE+ASTER Moonrise Glow & Contour Bronzing Palette - $46 @ bluemercury.com – this is a really serious highlighting duo. One side is the glowing bronzer and the other is the candlelight-effect highlighter. I’m really only into matte bronzers so I’ve been using both along tops of my cheek bones.

2. CHELLA Highlighter Pencil in Ivory Lace $18 @ chella.com, dermstore.com – this highlighter has quite a cult following and I see why! It works under the eyebrow, along the cupids bow, inner corners of the eyes and more. No shimmer or glow here, which is nice when I’m not in the mood for it. There’s just something about this super light matte pink shade they call Ivory Lace that works with almost every skin tone.  

3. MAYBELLINE NEW YORK Face Studio Master Strobing Stick in Medium Nude Glow - $7.99 @ target.com – this has become my go-to for highlighting my cheekbones and inner corner of my eyes. This one seems to blend perfectly into my skin tone not really adding any color, just glow!

4. MAYBELLINE NEW YORK Face Studio Master Contour V-Shape Duo Stick in Medium - $7.99 @ target.com – why did it take so long for someone to come up with a duo-colored stick like this? Use the light side for highlighting/strobing and the darker side to define cheeks, contour the nose, and jawline.

5. PIXI BY PETRA Beauty Blush Duo + Kabuki in Peach Honey - $18 @ pixibeauty.com, target.com – I’m not a fan of any shimmer or any other effects in my blush (I’m a matte girl on that front too) so I’ve been using this like the Lune+Aster one, upper cheeks and under the brow bone.

I seem to go in and out when it comes to using face masks. I know it's good to give the skin some extra attention with specific ingredients but like washing my hair, it's work and I've just been uber lazy the last few months! On the other hand, I have seen some good results alternating between the below ones this summer so I'll be keeping it up!

CHELLA Anti-Fatigue Eye Mask Kit ($30/4 sets @ chella.com, dermstore.com) – great for a quick under eye pick-me-up that will depuff and lessen dark circles. It’s a two-part system where you squeeze out the activator packet onto the pads and then apply them to the skin for 15 minutes.

H2O+ Oasis Moisture Lock Mask ($42/2oz @ h2oplus.com, ulta.com) – this one smells sooo good and is a summery blue color! Hydrate and smooth the skin all in 10 minutes.

H2O+ Infinity+ Youth Reveal Peel ($44/2oz @ h2oplus.com, dermstore.com) – I know this one doesn't fall straight under the face mask category but I've been using it as one. It seems a little more intense than the above one and does its thing in only 3 minutes. In addition to super hydration, this one also exfoliates using alpha hydroxy acids. 

TATCHA Luminous Deep Hydration Lifting Mask ($28/single mask, $95/four-pack @ tatcha.com, net-a-porter.com) – have you tried a sheet mask yet? I see some people on Instagram that swear by them, like @missfamenyc on Instagram. This particular sheet mask contains Red Algae from Japan’s Okinawa and the brand’s signature HADASEI-3 Bioactive complex, which smooths skin out using coconut fruit, green tea and royal jelly extract, among others. I like putting my sheet masks in the refrigerator to cool my skin down this summer.
