How to Avoid Makeup Meltdown!

Can you believe we still have over a month of summer temps? My biggest problem this time of year when it comes to makeup is the dreaded makeup meltdown. It’s not fun and doesn’t look good. Here are few I like that will help you avoid it this season.

Say-Buh-Bye-To-Makeup-Melt
Face Primer
GUERLAIN L’Or Radiance Primer ($74/1oz @ sephora.com, nordstrom.com) – a good face of makeup needs something to adhere to and this one gets my vote.

Setting Mist SUPERGOOP Supergoop! X MILLY Defense Refresh Setting Mist SPF 50 ($28/3.4oz @ sephora.com) – keep it all in place with a good makeup setting spray. And this one has SPF 50 built in so you refreshing all day will give you a shot of protection from the sun.

Brow Gel PHYSICIANS FORMULA Brow Last Longwearing Brow Gel ($10.95 @ walgreens.com) – I inherited my father’s brows so my brow hairs get long so keeping them in place is a must. This duo adds a dash of color and the other end combs it all in place.

Blush – I usually go with a cream blush but this CARGO Swimmables Water Resistant Blush ($26 @ ulta.com, dermstore.com) is showing its strength. This one is sweatproof and waterproof so I’m restoring my faith in pressed powder during the summer again.

Anti-Lip bleeding LippieMAC Liptensity Lip Pencil ($21 @ maccosmetics.com, nordstrom.com) – I’ve been wearing these as full lip colors and the added benefit? No bleeding! The Marsala shade is a favorite.

MascaraBENEFIT BADgal Waterproof Mascara ($19 @ benefitcosmetics.com, hsn.com) – one of my favorite mascaras for bad-girl lashes comes in a waterproof formula so it will totally stay on.

Budge-proof liner URBAN DECAY 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil ($21 @ urbandecay.com, sephora.com, ulta.com) – liner running down the face couldn’t look worse so prevent it with any of their 50+ shades.

What Do You Like in Your Bronzer?

Some people have to have a very matte, matte, bronzer. Others like a touch of shimmer. What about you? Here are three that will fill each mood.

Bronzers-Cargo-Napoleon-Perdis-and-Orlane ORLANE Bronzing Pressed Powder in Soleil Cuivre ($40 @ lordandtaylor.com) – this is your basic super matte pressed face powder. It just happens to have quite a following of devoted users.

NAPOLEON PERDIS Bronze Patrol ($50 @ napoleonperdis.com) – this baked powder has a touch of pretty gold flecks in it as well as vitamins A and C.

CARGO BeachBlush in Echo Beach ($28 @ dermstore.com) – love the combo of a blush and bronzer and this one give you four options in its tin!

Cargo Is Calling All Brides

I’ve been back and forth on what to say about CARGO’s new blu_ray Collection. I mean, it’s made for people who are in front of the camera. With everything going high definition, viewers will see every flaw unless you make an adjustment. So how do these products fit into an everyday girl’s routine? I just read fellowCargo Beauty Blogging Network’s Shades of U post about wedding makeup and how these products are also perfect for high definition photography. I didn’t even think of that! I’ve just been wearing the Pressed Powder ($30) and Blush/Highlighter ($27) as everyday products and they are quite good. Each contains phytochromatic pigments that adjust with the light to make your skin look beautiful. Now I’ll be sure to strike a pose when a camera is in my vicinity! All @ dermstore.com.
