Butter London Glazen Blush Gelée

Butter-LONDON-Glazen-Blush-Gelee-in-Dazzle
Anything that delivers a product in a unique way always seems to catch my eye. And the latest is the Glazen Blush Gelee show here in the mauve shade of Dazzle ($26 @ butterlondon.com, ulta.com) from BUTTER LONDON. It’s a highly pigmented thick jelly that applies best to cheeks with fingers and dries down to an unmovable powder finish. The color is buildable and a little goes a long way.

And don’t look to the 3 available shades for any kind of matte finish. Each has a pearly and slightly iridescent finish (from the mica inside) that will beg you to make cheeks your front-and-center feature. And why not? The cheeks rarely get to be.

Butter London Gets Into the Matte Game

I guess I pretty much expect a super flat look when I see the word “matte” in any lipstick name, however, this truth seems to only be when it comes to liquid lipsticks. I recently tried BUTTER LONDON’s new LIPPY Moisture Matte Lipsticks ($22 @ ulta.com). So how did they do? Click after the pic to find out!

5 Favorites … In Super Bright Makeup!

Everywhere I turn these days I see brighter and brighter shades of makeup on the shelves and me likey! Neon nails, bright lips, pronounced cheeks, and poppin’ peepers is where it’s at right now. So which feature are you fixin' to make bright?

5-Favorites-...-in-Super-Bright-Makeup

1. MAYBELLINE Color Sensational Vivids Lipcolor in #885 Vibrant Mandarin ($7.49 @ ulta.com) – orange-based and red is so sexy and will look hot with a faux tan this season.

2. MILANI Liquid Eye Liquid-Like Eye Liner Pencil in Aqua ($6.99 @ walmart.com) – a bright metallic teal blue that really makes brown eyes stand out.

3. OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE COSMETICS Nail Lacquer in Deven Green ($10 @ occmakeup.com) – not quite neon green so a little more wearable for us older folks.

4. BUTTER LONDON Lolly Brights Cheeky Cream Blush in Piccadilly Circus ($20 @ ulta.com) – use a light hand with this poppy red color as a little goes a long way.

5. LIME CRIME Velvetines in Pink Velvet ($20 @ dermstore.com, amazon.com) – a super matte hot pink. Love these Velvetines!

Disclosure: Some of these items were provided for review purposes. Some I bought.

Review+Swatches - Butter London Wink Cream Eye Shadows

Who isn’t into bright lip and nails these days? Pretty much all categories of makeup can be found in bright versions and BUTTER LONDON just put out a collection called the Lolly Brights Collection. While some are on the bright side like the Nail Lacquers, I found the Wink Cream Eye Shadows ($18 @ dermstore.com) more on the pastel side of the spectrum. I’m not usually a fan of pastels but these might just change my mind. Click after to the jump to see why.

Review+Swatches - Butter LONDON Color Cosmetics

The BUTTER LONDON line just expanded their line this month by adding makeup items to their nail polish line. Comprised of WINK Mascara ($20/6 shades), WINK Cream Eye Shadow ($18/6 shades), WINK Eye Pencil ($18/6 shades), LIPPY Tinted Balm ($20/6 shades) and CHEEKY Cream Blush ($20/4 shades). I tried some of their glosses here so I guess this was in the works for some time.

Review+Swatches - Butter London Lippy

Lippy – British slang for someone who makes impertinent or cheeky remarks.

The BUTTER LONDON nail line just came out with some Lippys that match some of the polishes as part of the Spring/Summer 2012 collection.

Review+Swatches - Butter London S/S 12 Nail Lacquer Collection

Let’s check into Spring/Summer with BUTTER LONDON Nail Lacquer’s new collection that just came out. I’ve been out of touch with the 3FREE brand for a few so I didn’t know that they had finally changed the way the cap is. It used to not pop off to reveal the round top you hold to apply the polish. So much easier and I did point this out in one of the last features I did on the brand.

Anyway, this current collection is popping with bright colors and softer opaques. The two I tried here were so up my alley, it was creepy, and I can’t even decide which is my favorite.

Wanna see swatches and close ups? How about some really cool new nail art that's easy to use? Click after the pic!

How Many Times Does Britney Spears Change Her Nail Polish?

Not enough. It’s become a pet peeve of mine to see her on the gossip blogs with really chipped polish and she doesn’t even sport the chipped polish done for the effect; the “OMG, I’m so busy and wanted that I don’t even have time to do my nails!” No, hers are chipped in the “I really don’t care about anything” way.Butter May I suggest BUTTER LONDON 3 Free Nail Lacquer ($12 @ dermstore.com), Britney? 3 Free? Free of the three most common chemical toxins found in nail polishes these days: Formaldehyde, Toluene or DBP, so the're even safe for the boys, if that's your thing.

And might I suggest a couple of colors for you, Britney? How about a ‘putty meets mushroom’ for your fingers? Ok, Fash Pack it is. And for toes? Hmmm, how about Branwen’s Feather? It’s a nice blackish-purple and In Style magazine loved it this past January. And these polishes wear just as well as your other brands.
While I like the rectangle packaged polishes, closing the bottle after using it is not so easy. The threads inside the cap and on the glass have to line up perfectly to twist the cap back on because if they don’t, it goes back on wonky. A little annoying, but don’t worry Britney, I’ll help you with the caps.
