The secret to getting your makeup look done and out the door in 5 minutes is to use multi-taskers like ones that are tinted. Since you don’t have to be as precise with tinted versions, time is on your side. Here are some in each category you should cover in order to at least look polished.  

First up is a Tinted Moisturizer or tinted BB Cream. They can be applied with your fingers or a sponge and not only are they usually available in quite a few shades but they give just a hint of tint so you don’t have to worry about overdoing it. And some even come with a built-in SPF, so you’re saving a few extra seconds on your routine right there! Here are some I recommend:

Just remember that if you do choose one that doesn’t contain sunscreen, make sure you apply some before one of these.

I'm starting a new on-going feature called "5 Favorite ... " where I list my 5 current favorite products in a particular category. So this week, I've chosen Pantone's Color of the Year, Radiant Orchid. 

It’s almost like they picked it just because it’s such a great color when it comes to makeup! Here are my favorites when it comes to this color. Are you wearing any radiant orchid these days on your features?

THE BODY SHOP Bunch of Violets Shimmer Cubes Palette #23 ($22 @ thebodyshop.com) – this quad is great for creating an overall orchid-colored eye look. The cube shades are: Orchid Purple, Candy Pink, Pearly White and Velvet Plum. Use wet or dry and apply with brush or your finger and blend, blend, blend.

MARC JACOBS BEAUTY Shameless Bold Blush in #212 Outspoken ($30 @ sephora.com) – blend in  this surprisingly workable shade on cheeks. So unexpectedly fun.

DOLCE & GABBANA The Nail Lacquer in Passione ($24 @ saks.com) – along with the Beauty Addicts, this one is a spot on perfect shade of the trending color. Gorg!

BEAUTY ADDICTS Lip Addiction in Seduce Fierce ($17 @ beautyaddicts.com) – I think this shade perfectly describes the shade. The coverage is sheer to medium depending how much you apply.

KANEBO Sensai Rouge Everlasting Colour in #115 Iwatsutsuji ($40 @ sensai-cosmetics.com) – this one is just a smidge more purple so if you want your trending shade more on that side, this would be a good one to try. And these lippies are really smooth and last quite a few hours.  

Why am I super surprised when I come across a mascara that actually works? I guess because I try so many out that well, suck. The one I’m touting as yeah is BEAUTY ADDICTS Show Off Mascara ($20 @ beautyaddicts.com). I’ve only met two people in my life who are fine with just there lashes and just giving them a small boost. Most want wah-wah-wow lashes and I fall into that category.

The result reminds me of this one as it gives long, defined lashes and the formula contains Argan Oil to condition the hairs. Ok, that’s a first.

It clumped a little when I was putting it on but I was able to work those out with the curved brush. It didn’t flake off or smudge and I got about full evening (3 different times) of wear before it started to fade off. This one comes in Jet Black. Thanks BA!!

Fall is one of my favorite times of the year for cosmetics. The colors are rich and bold and I am just so excited for what’s to come. So here’s a new feature called Following Fall and will spotlight specific new products and colors that will help you get your fall on.
