Clean Skin With Avene

Avene-Extremely-Gentle-Cleanser-2 You think facial cleanser and you think water, right? Not with AVENE Extremely Gentle Cleanser ($20/8oz @ smallflower.com). This soap-free liquid uses a total of 9 ingredients to dissolve makeup and everyday dirt. Ingredients include their Thermal Spring Water (96%) and plant derived cleansing agents (I guess they total the other 8 ingredients?). Use a cotton pad to apply and work the liquid in circles on the skin and then gently tissue off without rubbing.

I have to say, I was fine applying it with the cotton balls and really felt I was getting a more thorough cleaning then I usually do but using a tissue to remove it? Just couldn’t do it. I had to use a squeezed out wash cloth. Is that cheating? I hope not because I liked the way it worked. Absolutely no squeaky-squeaky on the skin in the end.

And like being soap-free, this one has some other “frees” like oil-free, fragrance-free, parabens-free and colorant-free. So if these are important traits when it comes to choosing your beauty products, this might be one for consideration for the face cleanser category. And the price is pretty right on.

Quick Pick with Avene Thermal Spring Water

Avene_2It’s going to get hot everywhere in the coming weeks so this time of year, I always keep a good face mist on hand. One that arrived just in time is this AVENE Thermal Spring Water ($11/5.29oz, $16/10.58oz @ net-a-porter.com). Face mists are a great way to cool down and it doesn't mess up your makeup. The water in this instant skin cooler contains nourishing minerals that are good for all skin tones so with this one, I'm getting an extra boost. And because it is packaged in a can, you can bet it’s always fresh and ready to use.
