Fall Standouts – Fragrance

Falll-2011-Beauty-Pick-logo
Fall is a very popular time for new scents and the below three are total standouts for me. What scent has your attention right now?

Fall-2011-Product-Picks-FragrancesACQUA DI PARMA Gelsomino Nobile EDP ($170/3.4oz, $108/1.7oz @ neimanmarcus.com) – welcome  the newest addition to their Le Nobili collection, this one is centered on a special species of Jasmine grown in Calabria, Italy, and it’s described as a true floral with musk undertones.

BY KILIAN Sweet Redemption (The End) ($225/1.7oz refillable bottle, $125/1.7oz refill, $135/1oz refillable travel spray @ saksfifthavenue.com) – this is the final release in By Killian’s L’Oeuvre Noire series and what a way to go out. This one is orange blossom, sour orange leaf absolute, vanilla absolute on a dry down of myrrh, incense and benzoin. This one is kind of hard to describe without smelling it.

FENDI Fan di Fendi EDP ($56/1oz, $76/1.7oz, $92/2.5oz @ ice.com) – they call this one a radiant floral with a splash of leather and pink peppercorn. And the F logos on the bottle make me want to carry it around in my purse to show it off.

Spring Color Picks 2010

Pantone-Fashion-Color-Report-Spring-2010 If you follow any aspect of fashion, you’ve heard that the Pantone Color of the Year for 2010 is Turquoise. Just hearing that news recently made me want to redo my living room or at least add some turquoise accents. Did I? No but I it did make me think of beauty products and how I could reflect the trend in my everyday makeup look with a splash of liquid on my nails or powder on my lids. “Combining the serene qualities of blue and the invigorating aspects of green, Turquoise inspires thoughts of soothing, tropical waters and a comforting escape from the everyday troubles of the world, while at the same time restoring our sense of wellbeing.”

Other colors of the Spring Season? Tomato Purée, Fusion Coral, Violet and Tuscany, to name a few. So what does that mean to you? I’ll be highlighting some products that showcase the colors in an on-going feature called Spring Color Picks. First up? Turquoise and Tomato Purée. I’m pairing the soothing blue-green and the tangy classic red in one feature as I think they balance each other out nicely.

So you wanna see the product picks?
