Nothing I love more than a liquid lipstick but these new ones from MAYBELLINE are not like the ones you may be used to at least they were not for me. They are the SuperStay Ink Crayons and here are the details:.

My Take: What I like about these is that because they’re not a liquid, there is no dry down and therefore no dry down look even though they dry down all the way and leave more of a satin finish behind. I oscillate between LLs and matte lipstick because I want the longevity but with the matte lipsticks, I don’t feel I have as much of a commitment. With these, they fall in between the super long wearing of a LL and the short time of the matte lipstick. So these for sure have a place in my life! And the smell? Like a light Playdoh scent, which I like.

One tip is that I would use a lip liner with these lippies as they can migrate a little bit if you have lip lines.

Overall, I’m not really the jazzed by the color selection. No nudes to speak of. But since it is summertime, they really went with the fruity, bold colors like these three shown here. So perhaps they will come out with more shades if these do well in the marketplace?
