Even though I live in Los Angeles, every year I look forward to spring. I think it’s just been ingrained in me since I grew up in the blizzards, rain, and snow of the east coast city of Boston. I know the rest of the nation is having some really extreme temps but spring is right around the corner and I’m currently getting the house ready for the season. My SO says I’m pretty good at moving our family from one season to the next.

Besides going through the shoe and clothing closets to get rid of things we don’t wear anymore, I also like to clean out the beauty closet to get us into new regimens for the season, and what better way than with a new batch of products from Albertsons! I’m there every week picking up my family’s food for the week, so I always make sure to pop into the beauty aisle to see the latest products coming out.

Here are some tips on how I decide on what stays and what goes:

 

First, I’ll take stock of our daily personal care products to see what I have in stock and when I might need to restock sooner than later. Of course some of them are seasonal so I’ll either add or detract from what I’m using. Take shampoo and conditioner for example, I put away the heavy ones I’ve been using for winter and pick up some lighter ones like TRESemmé Botanique Sulfate-Free Color Vibrance & Shine Shampoo & Conditioner. The formulas in these are rich to help clean and condition, but do it without the use of sulfates, which can dull color-treated hair. Since I’m the one in the family that colors her hair, this is important to me.

Next I make a list of what I know I’m going to need and I won’t be wearing many layers in the hot temps and show more skin, a body scrub will be at the top of the list. Dove just put out the Body Polish line and this one nourishes the skin while scrubbing. A two-in-one action! I like that it’s a really thick, whipped formula. Next on my list to update is what I keep in the car and a fresh pack of wipes are at the top of that list. My faves are from the Simple line so I keep a pack of their Water Boost Hydrating Cleansing Wipes at the ready. The other product I like to keep in the car is a good hair oil on like this one from the Love Beauty and Planet line.
