Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel & Precleanse

Dermalogica-Special-Cleansing-Gel-and-Precleanse
Have you heard of double cleansing yet? It’s funny because I didn’t even know the process had a name. I mean, you remove your makeup and then you wash your face right? Well the process is now known as double cleansing.

When I first heard the name (before the definition) I thought, wow, this is really going to overdo it on the face, no? But it actually doesn’t and I think it better for your skin in the long haul.

Removing makeup will also get rid of dirt, sebum and anything else hanging around that shouldn’t be there. And then you have a bare canvas to give a cleaning to. Makes sense, right?

I’ve been using the duo from DERMALOGICA lately. Their Precleanse ($45/5.1oz @ dermalogica.com, ulta.com) is in the form of an oil (a favorite) that will melt makeup (even waterproof) and other products using Borage Seed, Kului and Apricot Oils and then rice brand and vitamin E to nourish all skin types.

Next, I clean it using a wash cloth and their Special Cleansing Gel ($38/8.4oz, $59/16.9oz @ dermalogica.com, ulta.com, target.com). This gel is soap-free and uses a naturally-foaming Quillaja Saponaria (say that 5 times fast!) to clean the skin without stripping it dry. And by taking out all the makeup and other debris, the cleanser is able to do it job thoroughly. Now doesn’t that make sense?

Will you be getting in on this double cleansing trend or are you already doing it and didn’t know it?
