What a whirlwind July has been! I’m finally back home for a few weeks and can at last sink my teeth into the URBAN DECAY Born To Run Collection. And these are all new products/colors!

The collection is comprised of:

• Born To Run Eyeshadow Palette ($49)
• Born To Run Vice Lipstick ($18) in 66 comfort matte (nude mauve), Marfa comfort matte (dark berry w/pink micro-shimmer), Ready? matte (bright rose sparkle).
• 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil ($21) in Lucky (metallic burnt orange) and Double Life (metallic reddish-brown), Overdrive (metallic green).
• Travel-size All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray ($15/1oz)

My take: At this point in the game, Urban Decay can do no wrong. While I don’t think every collection is for me, this one is in the yes column for sure. What I like most from UD is their shadows as they really know how to put out the best ones. I didn’t try every shade in the palette so I’m not sure how all of them perform but the 6 or so I tried were up to par.

Two things about this palette stood out to me – the way the mirror can bend behind the palette all the way so you save space when there’s not much in front of your mirror on the makeup table. The other stand out is how these shades will transition me nicely into the fall season. I’m still wallowing in the burnt orange/purple phase that has been with me most of the summer so I’ll look forward to using some of the darker browns and blues in this one. I need to try something new and get out of this comfort zone I’m in!

I wasn’t too wow’d by the liners and the two brown ones were a little too similar. Maybe a dark mauve would have been a better choice.

As far as the lipsticks go, I’m still a liquid lipstick fan so it would be nice to see three or so totally different formulas like one Vice, one liquid lipstick and one gloss. Just a thought!
