I feel like everyone is in the spring cleaning frame-of-mind right now! I went to a party over the weekend and the hosts had all kinds of items set aside in their garage for a yard sale this coming weekend. No, I didn’t go and see if there was anything in the stash I wanted to buy. I was good!

This month my motto is Spring Into Beauty, #SpringIntoCVS. And since there’s a CVS located just down the street from me, I visit a few times a week. And you know that I’m always on the lookout for new brands they’re carrying like the ApotheCARE Essentials line. It’s made to give my hair volume, which I always need and you won’t find any silicones, parabens, or dyes in the formula.

I’m pretty picky about a conditioner so the Colorist Conditioner also sits within easy reach tub-side. Not only does it protect my newly lightened color but it also contains Moroccan mint and steamed distilled lavender to stimulate the roots and keep my strand nourished. Each season I usually have a go-to hair style depending on the length and since I cut a few inches off my hair recently and it’s at my shoulders, I had to find a style that would get me through the upcoming hot season, and I think this is it.

You will need the following:

• Bobbie pins
• A small bun maker
• Elastics
• Comb
• Dry Shampoo

I try and plan when I’m going to wear this style so I wash my hair with ApotheCARE Essentials’s Shampoo and Conditioner the night before so I’m starting with day old hair.

First, spray the roots on the top of the head and back with ApotheCARE Essentials The Booster Dry Shampoo to give strands some texture and the bobbie pins will have something to grab onto.

Next, grab the sides of the hair about 1 inch above the ear and pin in the back. Then, braid the hair just above the ear that you didn’t secure in the back. After you have a braid on each side, pin that to the back just below the other section.

Next, take the hair at the nape of the neck and make a pony tail, put it through the bun maker, secure an elastic over the bun maker to secure the hair around the bun maker and then pin the hair down around it with bobbie pins. Pull a couple of strands out from around the face and voila! This style is not meant neat and tidy but moreso to get it off your neck so you’re not hot.
