I’ve been testing the Dove DermaSeries Repairing Balm for the past 30-days and really giving this one a challenge on the dry parts of my body. Most in need were the hands, and two dry spots, one on my ankle and the other on my elbow. Have you been following my updates on Instagram?

What I like about this Dove DermaSeries Repairing Balm is how thick and emollient it is. That’s because of the unique petroleum jelly blend this contains.  What I tested – when it comes to my hands, my usual regimen with a regular lotion, is to apply some 2 to 3 times a day. For the dry spots I mentioned above, I apply plain lotion whenever they bother me/when I remember. The spot on my elbow actually hurts sometimes (the skin) because my shirt will rub against it, and that’s usually the reminder that makes me do something about it, embarrassing enough.

What I found – for my hands, as I reported on Instagram Stories, I’ve found that after using the Repairing Balm twice a day for one week, I didn’t need to use it twice a day the following week and then eventually went to every other day. Now that’s a big deal! The skin looks hydrated and not as dry and, well, old.

As far as my two dry spots, that’s taking a little longer to heal. I’ve been using the unscented balm a few times a week on each of them and perhaps I just need to up to applying it at least once a day for a more intense treatment. So to make it easier to remember, I put the jar next to my bed next to my floss, so I don’t forget.
