Chanel Rouge Allure Ink

CHANEL Rouge Allure Ink
($37 @ chanel.com) is the brand’s answer to the liquid lipstick craze and I was able to get my hands on 4 of them to review and swatch. Like most lippies, some shades performed better than others.

What it is: A long-lasting liquid lipstick with a smooth texture that glides on like a gloss and sets with a luminous, velvet-like finish. Polymers, waxes and plant oils smooth and nourish lips, while Jojoba Oil and a unique anti-oxidant complex offer hydration and protective benefits. The applicator tip allows for comfortable and easy application. In a provocative range of red-tint shades, from tart pink to deep brown-noir.

My take: the formulas dry down all the way with some transfer. I was really surprised at how moisturizing and comfortable these were on my lips! But because of that, I only got about 4 hours of wear on average; less if I ate or drank something.

The glass container that houses the formula looks rather small but it contains 6mls of product. I compared it to another liquid lipstick (Rimmel), and that one is 6.5mls, this one (Maybelline) is less at 5ml.

The darker shades definitely performed better than the lighter ones in this case, so I would recommend those shades.

Shown here on my lips is 150 Luxuriant

L to R: 152 Choquant, 142 Créatif, 140 Amoureux, 150 Luxuriant

Disclosure: Samples of these items were provided for review purposes.

Stacie Hamilton

I love Chanel lip products. I must try out one of these darker shades soon because I need it last longer. Love the shade 150 on you!

Thanks Stacie! I just love red lipsticks.
