Well, well, well, look who’s getting into the liquid lipstick game!?! PIXI BEAUTY MatteLast Liquid Lip ($14 @ pixibeauty.com, target.com) is made up of 6 nude-based shades. 

I’ve been dying to try these to see how they stack up against other brands! Infused with rosehip oil, these dry down all the way to a matte and non-transferable finish.

Overall I think the colors play it pretty safe as these seem wearable for many skin tones with no that’s-too-much-for-me-to-wear in the bunch. That's fine with me but it would have been nice if one or two were not as in the nude category. Maybe they are planning on expanding the shade range?

Anyway, they were richly pigmented, as I would expect, and the dry-down toed the line of being too dry. Sometimes when I wear one that hovers on too dry upon application, the longer I wear it, the more it leans in that territory, especially in the winter months like now. On the other hand, these didn't seem to wear as long as a traditional liquid lipstick. I got an average of 3 hours of wear with them, and while I do expect longer wear with my LLs, these have a place in my life. LLs can be a commitment, so when I'm wanting to wear one but not for that long, I think I'll be reaching for these ones.
