The latest brand of liquid lipsticks to cross my desk are from the UK brand, MODELS OWN and their Lix Matte Liquid Lipstick ($7.99 @ ulta.com). I swear, these formulas are getting better and better with each brand I try!

Upon opening the cap, I noticed a peppermint scent but I didn’t feel it on my lips. I’m just not a fan of the feeling on my lips or the supposedly plumping effects of those that contain mint so this was nice.

It seems that there is a trend lately of trying to be different when it comes to packaging and most seem to cover it up in that you can’t tell what the color is inside the tube. I am not a fan of this at all. I like that I can see instantly what color I am grabbing or looking at, like with these.

I also like the “clack-clack” sound of the tubes when I bump them together. Yes, it can be the little things that delight!

So how did these wear? They dry down all the way and are a tad transferable. I did experience a little beading on the lips with the two red shades but it was very little. As far as comfort, apart from feeling like I have something on my lips, these were certainly not uncomfortable, like some can be. When it comes to how they wore and how long, I got about 5 hours until they started coming off on the inside of my lip, mainly the top lip, and like most reds, the rest wear off was sort of patchy. And really wore off if I ate something. So basically, these wore like most red liquid lipsticks. No one seems to have perfected it quite yet, so overall, I’d give these a B+.
