How often do you get your winged eyeliner just perfect … on both eyes?! It can be hard, especially if you have hooded lids like I do. It can make applying a winged liner really tough. But a tool has come along to help!

The Vamp Stamp

THE VAMP STAMP is exactly that, a rubber mold that will stamp your wing liner right on the corner of your eye. I started following them on Instagram as soon as I came across them about 6 months ago and finally in the past few months, the stamps were released.

Right now you can purchase the VaVaVoom Stamp in Medium and Large ($25 each @ thevampstamp.com) and they also sell VINK Eyeliner Ink + VERGE Angle Brush ($20 @ thevampstamp.com). And it was really hard waiting for these to come out. I even tried making my own stamper with a false nail glued to a stick – I saw a picture of it on Instagram so it worked for someone!

Anyway, I ended up purchasing the Large figuring I can use some of the many liquid liners I already own. Not so fast. It seems that only some liquids work with the stamp and forget about gel pot liners. Those don’t work at all. What was odd was that I could not find one review about the ink and if it was a necessary purchase before I just bought the stamper. All of these items are not cheap so I was hoping to cut a corner here.

So I waited a few and figured there much be something to their Ink so I threw caution to the wind and picked it up along with the Medium stamp to try that one out too.

From what I had been seeing on their Instagram, these seem like a god send! There’s video of girls getting the perfect wing and I just knew this had to be my answer, but is it?

As I mentioned early in this post, I have a hooded lid, so I use this stamp looking straight ahead in the mirror, like you would normally do when using this tool, and just stamp this in the corner. Hooded lids means I don’t have smooth skin in the area I'm stamping so I don’t get a smooth wing :( But I do get the next best thing, which is an outline to follow, and probably the best I’m going to get with this because of how my eyes are set up. I really wish the brand would address those with hooded eyes and this tool as there are quite a few of us out there and it would be great to see videos on how they are using their Vamp Stamps.

So in the end, are these items worth it? I would say yes, purchase both the ink along with your stamp. At least I can get an accurate outline of the wing I need, which is good enough for me. The ink is like one of those ink blotting pads and seems to be a nice quality. Along with the ink comes with a small angled brush for I-don’t-know-what. Maybe to apply to the stamper? I just run the stamp along the top of the ink and it works fine, so really don't need the brush, but ok.

Is this something you will be purchasing?
