Save Skin Post Halloween with Spa @ Home by masqueBAR
How fitting is this Spa @ Home by masqueBAR™ Luminizing Charcoal Peel Off Mask right now? It’s a black face mask! I guess you could say that I’m ready to give out Halloween candy after putting this one on. Or at least now I have two products at the ready that can get my skin back into shape after wearing all the Halloween makeup this weekend!
I’ve written about the benefits of charcoal in beauty products a few times like here for helping to fight acne and to draw out impurities in the skin and this Spa @ Home is an affordable and convenient way to do it as it’s only stocked only at Walgreens nationwide. So when you are picking out outfit accessories at Walgreens this weekend, be sure to stick these in your basket too.
I found the best way to use this mask is to cut 3 of the edges of the pouch off with scissors, peel the front and back panels apart and using a large makeup brush, dip it in the mask and apply it to the face.
A couple of tips -
- You will probably need more than one pouch to cover your entire face.
- Make sure your hair is pulled back so you don’t get any of the black goo in your hair.
- Apply this over the sink in case any of it drips because it's drippy just out of the pouch.
- Make sure all areas of the mask are dry before peeling any of it off, which is quite fun, btw!
This one should stay on the skin for 20 to 30 minutes to make sure the ingredients like lotus root extract, Bergamot extract, vitamin C and B complex have a chance to work. Great for use once a week to keep your skin in shape!
The other one I’ve been using from the Spa @ Home by masqueBAR™ line is their Sleeping Mask with Lavender. I’ve been quite curious about these masks that are supposed to be left on overnight. After a few nights of a lot of makeup on my skin, it needs the extra nourishing and moisturizing attention.
After doing your regular cleansing routine before bed, just massage some of the mask onto the skin, neck and décolletage and hit the hay. Yes, I was concerned about my pillow case and if this mask would get all over it but it totally didn’t and my skin only felt the teeniest, tiniest bit sticky when I got into bed (the mask itself is clear) and it seems to have seeped all the way into my skin by morning. No mess!
Like anything you put on your skin, if you tend to be on the sensitive side, I would do a spot test to make sure any ingredients don’t react with your skin.
This mask contains aloe, Witch Hazel, lavender oil (helps to lull you to sleep!), in addition to other plant-derived ingredients like rosemary, thyme and sage. With the time change with Daylight Savings coming up, the lavender oil is a nice addition to make sure I get my Zzzzs!
