How do you pick out a foundation shade? Right now, there are two ways I select the correct shade of foundation. One is Sephora Color IQ and the other is the Temptalia Foundation Matrix. Overall, this is one area in the beauty world that the makeup companies have not figured out the answer to.

So when I was contacted by a PR company to see if I wanted to try the new MATCHCo, I jumped at the chance. Your complexion usually changes depending on what season it is – in the summer it’s darker and in the winter, it’s lighter.

Enter MATCHCo, a company using technology to solve an age-old problem. No need to guess what your shade is. Simply download their app and it walks you through the less-than-4-minute process of finding your shade of foundation. And this time includes the purchase of it!

After calibrating your cel phone to their system in the app, it asks you to tap your wrist, one side of your cheek, the other and, if I recall correctly, the forehead. This process will find your happy middle when it comes to what shade will match you through all seasons. I ordered it on a Thursday and about 8 days later, the box arrived at my door. So easy!

My Perfect Complexion Custom Tinted Hydrating Formula is a primer and color all in one. It also touts anti-aging benefits like vitamin E, chamomile, and green tea. It’s $49/1oz @ getmatch.co and they accept full returns for any reason within 30 days.

They recommend using your fingers to apply the foundation and because this is Cybelesays.com, I also tried using a brush and a sponge to apply this but I have to agree, fingers seem to give the best application. It gave me a light-to-medium coverage that lasted all day.

And how about this nice extra touch? They print your name on the bottle, “Exclusively Created For … “ and the month/year it was created. Now that’s a nice touch!
