I’ve just been living in a liquid lipstick vortex for the past few months but trying out these TARTE COSMETICS Drench Lip Splash Lipsticks ($22/2.4g @ tartecosmetics.com and sephora.com) really brought me down to earth, and nicely I might add. They’re part of the Rainforest of the Sea Collection, which recently came out.

These lipsticks are soooo creamy, so much so, that I thought they were not going to have any gripping power but they did. Just beware that because the actual stick formula seemed to be softer than your regular lipstick, be gentle with it so it doesn’t break. Two of them did break inside the tube.

And when first applied, they sure are transferable, which I’m not used to these days b/c of the aforementioned reason. But on the plus side, in addition to being really pigmented, they are also quite hydrating and just look darn good on the lips!

While I like all three shades, can we talk about the red called Firework? After about 2 hours it leaves the most insane (in a great way) red stain behind! I can’t put enough exclamation points to show my delight at this since a true stain is so hard to come by these days! No I didn't eat anything the few times I've worn it but maybe this will help prevent me from snacking in between meals!

And just look at those swatches! One swipe across the lips should do you good. Choose from 12 shades.
