Two from the Fall 2015 Collection from Smashbox!
Have you seen any of the fall products from the 2015 Fall Collection from SMASHBOX? Let’s take a look at two up close! First up, L.A. Lights Blendable Lip & Cheek Color ($29 @ ulta.com, sephora.com) shown here in Beverly Hills Blush (peachy pink with golden shimmer). On one side is a creamy color and on the other is a round rubber sponge to blend it in. They call this one a, “multipurpose lip + check color,” but truth be told, I’ve never been a fan of using one product for both lips and(it) cheeks. When in a pinch? Sure. But right outta the box? Nah.
I know they describe this shade “with golden shimmer,” but know that they only added just the slightest amount, which I like, I tend to gravitate towards matte shades but this one actually works well.
Also available in Hollywood & Highlight (sheer pink pearl) and Silver Lake Sunset (warm coral).
Next up is their Photo Angle Pure Pigment Gel Liner ($24 @ nordstrom.com, smashbox.com) shown here in Smoke (smoke grey).
It’s a tad discerning to see the same innovative packaging from one brand used by another. Now who actually created it first? Who knows but we do that the other company was the first to bring it to market. So now this one just seems redundant. Since my review process includes the packaging, I feel I just have to mention this. Overall, I’m not really a fan of the click pens, which this one uses. On one hand I like that it keeps the product sanitary but on the other, it usually takes too many clicks to get the color to come out the first time. In this case, it took 68 clicks!
This smoke shade is not really a color I would wear but I did try it out and it went on smoothly and last about 8 hours on my lids (I don't have oily lids). Also available in Jet Black, Cocoa (dark brown) and Lilac.
