Dry Shampoos Have Entered a New Realm

Elizabeth-and-James-Nirvana-Dry-Shampoo
Dry shampoos have come quite a-ways and now we have ones that infuse theirs with an eau de parfum. Waah? Yup, leave it to the Olsen Twins to come up with a twist to what has become a faithful stand-by to most.

ELIZABETH AND JAMES 'Nirvana White' Dry Shampoo and 'Nirvana Black' Dry Shampoo ($28/4.4oz, $14/1.3oz @ sephora.com) each highlight the brand’s eau de parfum scent into the formula.

I’m quite tickled with the Nirvana White at the moment (notes of peony, muguet and tender musk) so I’ve been looking forward to not washing my hair so I can use it to layer my fragrance that day.

The formula uses rice starch to absorb oils and it doesn’t contain any talc, which is known to leave residue behind. Yuck!

And since the scent inside the can is not that strong, it’s also a unique way to wear your fragrance for the day by just giving you a light wisp of the notes.

Now We Have a Makeup Trend On Our Hands!

Lancome-Sourcils-Tint-Longwear-Eyebrow-Pen-Ultra-Precise-in-Brun-and-Noir
Ok, I smell a trend here! Felt-tipped brow color is it and I’m so in. You may remember the review of this one recently and these latest one along the same line is from LANCOME. The Sourcils Tint Longwear Eyebrow Pen Ultra-Precise ($26 @ lancome.com) use a felt tip that actually adds color to the skin around the brow hairs. Think about it – isn’t that a better way to fill in brows? A typical pencil can skip, color the hair and skin or just look fake overall. These just add a dash of color where you need it and it’s buildable.

Get Pixelated with Japonesque

Japonesque-Pixelated-Color-Palette-main
What It Is
: JAPONESQUE Pixelated Color Eye Shadow Palette ($38 @ ulta.com japonesque.com) - Pixelated Color Eye Shadow is Japonesque Color's most multidimensional formula. Blend these micronized color pigments effortlessly onto outer eye corners for a deep, light-catching, color-shifting gradient. The Pixelated Eye Shadow Palette includes everything you need to conquer the cut crease: three exclusive Pro Basic shades to pair with Pixelated Eye Shadow.

My Take: Since I always use a close-to-my-own-skintone base color on my lids before applying any color, I really like that this has 4 basics inside. And they can be used for contouring if you dab a little of this color and mix it with a little of that!

The Pixelated shades are gor-ge-ous to look at. So how did they perform? Click after the jump to find out!

Two from the Fall 2015 Collection from Smashbox!

Smashbox-L.A.-Lights-Blendable-Lip-&-Cheek-Color-and-Photo-Angle-Pure-Pgment-Gel-Liner
Have you seen any of the fall products from the 2015 Fall Collection from SMASHBOX? Let’s take a look at two up close! First up, L.A. Lights Blendable Lip & Cheek Color ($29 @ ulta.comsephora.com) shown here in Beverly Hills Blush (peachy pink with golden shimmer). On one side is a creamy color and on the other is a round rubber sponge to blend it in. They call this one a, “multipurpose lip + check color,” but truth be told, I’ve never been a fan of using one product for both lips and(it) cheeks. When in a pinch? Sure. But right outta the box? Nah.
