Should You Put the InstaWave On Your Holiday Wish List?
I don’t think there’s a female out there that doesn’t love trying out new gadgets, at least the ones I know! And for me, I especially like ones for the hair. The latest to cross my desk is the KISS InstaWave and anything that’s going to make curling my hair easier, I’m in.
What It Is: The revolutionary KISS InstaWave is a fully automatic tangle-free curler that instantly creates beautiful, long-lasting curls with ease.
Sounds pretty easy! But is it? Click after the pic to find out!
My take: I watched the video and read up on how to use it thought I had it down. I mean, it’s pretty basic: just place a section of hair on the curling rod, touch the Curl Dial either left or right, and the InstaWave wheel turns and catches the section, rolling it into a vertical curl. Hold it for 5 to 10 seconds and pull the tool downward to release said curl.
When I got in front of the mirror to start curling, I found myself getting confused when it came to which way to push the Curl Dial, to the left or right. The first time I just winging it but I’ve used the InstaWave a few times now and though I’m now more used to using it, I’m not sure this is a necessary tool to have in your arsenal as I think a curling iron does the same job with not only less guessing action, but my curls actually come out better. I can get some tension with the curling iron that I found I couldn’t get with this tool and if I was not able to catch the section of hair just right and sort of lock it into the piece of plastic that’s closest to the barrel, the iron part will just keep turning and turning around.
In the end, it was more work than it was worth so I’m passing on this one.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on it. I've been obsessed with trying it. However, since I have layers throughout my hair, it sounds like it might be more difficult than I anticipated.
