A Product I Never Thought I’d Try

I think at this point I’ve tried just about every category of product available. And even though there are a few things I don’t really like, there are very few things I flat out hate but I do have to say that waxing, as in waxing my legs or bikini area, is one that fall into that category. It just plain hurts every time! But brows? It’s a necessary evil to wax that area but it’s certainly not as bad as waxing a huge area like the legs or sensitive area like the bikini line.

So whenever I have received any kind of home waxing kit in the mail, it automatically went into the “giveaway bin.” I just know I won’t try it as I already know I’m not a fan. But for some reason, when I received the COMPLETELY BARE All In One Travel Wax Kit ($9.99 @ ulta.com), I didn’t automatically toss it into the bin. Instead, I opened it up and investigated. It’s doesn’t use any heat. It’s simply waxed strips (12 face strips and 6 bikini strips) that you rub between your hands to warm it up a tad, stick one side of the strip to the area, smoothing it on so you have full coverage, and then quickly ripping it off in the opposite direction of the hair growth.

But with this kit, I think I’ve turned a corner. I mean, I’m used to having my brows wax (yup, I’ve always had someone else do it) and it’s bearable but so why not do it myself try one of these small trips on my brow area. So I tried one of the face strips above each brow and I was amazed. Not only at how well each worked but that it didn’t hurt as much as I thought it would. And instead of using the bigger strips in the kit for my bikini area (yup, me waxing that area myself equates torcher in my book), I used it on the area right in front of my ears along the jaw bone where I have some fuzz. It also worked beautifully there too and didn’t hurt too much.

So I think I will be using these wax strips more often since I have just been cleaning up my brows with tweezers and I also consider tweezing my brows torcher but I just muddle through it. And I like that you can trim the paper strips to contour under and above the brow so you can get a super close wax.

And looking for tips on my new found discovery, I turned to YouTube and saw this kit where the wax nestled in between the 2 strips is clear so get a more precise line with your arch might be even easier with these!

How do you take care of your brows?
