This is one of the best hair oil/defrizzers I’ve ever used and I’ve tried a lot of them in the past 13+ years (hmm, Hall of Fame bound perhaps?). I remember when their website couldn’t keep it in stock when it came out as there was such a buzz on it. And since I covet it so, it’s gone into the category of, “for special occasions only,” so I only break it out when one pops up. Well SHU UEMURA just released a new one called the Essence Absolue Body Nourishing Dry Oil for Body and Hair. Yup, hair AND body … cuticles, dry spots etc. Squee!

Besides how well the original works on my strands, I really look forward to smelling the leftover oil on my hands and now I can apply it to my skin and let the scent continue! It contains great smelling and(it) working oils like camellia, sesame and almond and it has no silicones or parabens (a nasty preservative)  in it. But note that with this one, it seems to primarily be for the body and then with the excess on your hands, you run it through dry strands for added shine. The original is applied to towel-dried hair.

So will this come in the form of an eau de parfum next? It could happen. I mean, this one is built like a perfume with top, middle and base notes. Top: sparkling grapefruit, green almond; middle: fleur-de-lis, camellia petals; bottom: velvety musk. I’d buy it! $68/5oz @ shuuemuraartofhair.com.

Hot summer months are all about apply your makeup once during the day and having it stay. So when I saw TOO FACED’s new Bulletproof 24 Hour Eyeliner ($22 @ toofaced.com), I knew they were a must-try.

One side is the fat pencil liner and the other is the smudger, or what they call the Blending Ball. These are waterproof and have a sharpener hidden under the Blending Ball, which is convenient.

ARDENCY INN is taking a vacation in Los Angeles when it comes to their new Summer 2014 Collection. They teamed up with the lead singer of Shadows on Stars, Randa Leigh, and shot the campaign in LA’s seedy industrial district, which was complemented the artist’s vibe nicely.

This 4 products play under the Modster Collection and the ones I tried are the Long Play Supercharged Lip Color in Forward, described as a provocative pink with blue and violet undertones, and the Smooth Ride Supercharged Eyeliner in Cream, described as a true yellow cream used to brighten the eye liner on the water line.
