Review+Swatches - Dolce&Gabbana Classic Cream Lipstick
DOLCE & GABBANA just added some new Classic Cream Lipstick colors as part of the Spring 2014 collection and I’ve got two for you to see! Bonbon (pale pink) and Bellissima (orange-based pink).
The quality of the shiny gold tube, embossed with the Dolce&Gabbana logo, and rose scent of the actual lipstick is classy and makes me feel like a true woman. And the cap makes a “click” when it closes, which was specially designed to evoke the sound made by lipstick tubes in the fifties. I guess I never really noticed that most lipstick tubes don’t make this noise anymore. Will have to pay attention more!
Anyway, these two new colors join the other 40 shades now available. So how did it perform? Sadly, not up to my standards. Maybe I’m just not used a regular lipstick, like I feel these are. With all the different types I’ve been exposed to like long-wearing, liquid, etc. I had to step away from that thinking and go back to lipstick 101.
Out of the two, the Bellissima was the better one in terms of color pay off and longevity of wear but I only got about 3 hours of wear out of it, which these days is pretty short. $33 @ saks.com and nordstrom.com.
Disclosure: Samples of these items were provided for review purposes.
Oh wow, that is a short life-span for a lipstick! :( The Bellissima is a gorgeous shade though!

Hi Jessica, I know, right? For the price, it should have lasted longer. :(
