Review+Swatches - Tarte LipSurgence Lip Gloss

I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with lip gloss. While I love the look of a nice glossy colored lip, I don’t always like the feel. Some make me feel like my lips are suffocating. Does this happen to you? I’ve mentioned it here a few times but I do have to say, these TARTE COSMETICS LipSurgence Lip Gloss ($19 @ tartecosmetics.com) DO. NOT. SUFFOCATE! This is an extremely important issue for me. Like if I’m wearing gloss or testing one out, if I can constantly feel it on my lips, I’ll usually not wear that one again, which is why I tend to review more lipsticks on the site.

These combine the glossy effect with a tint of color in an anti-oxidant formula. Only tarte, right? These contain vitamin E, jojoba seed oil and flower extracts to keep lips in shape and these aren’t sticky at all. Another trait I think most of us loathe in a gloss.

They also claim to plump but I didn’t notice any plumping action but then again I’m not a fan of lip plumpers and wish most would just do away with it.

One trait that I’m a total fan of in general is when a brand pays attention to detail and in this case, it’s the doe foot. It looks like a ballerina on point and really hugs the lip as you apply. Gotta love that!
