Review+Swatches - Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick

I think the lipstick formula that tops my list these days has to be liquid lipsticks. The colors, the texture, the longevity of them, they just seem to perform really well on my lips. The latest to hit the market with a total buzz is TOO FACED Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick ($21 @ sephora.com and toofaced.com) and these seem to be right up my alley, but are they really?

Review+Swatches - BITE Beauty BB for Lips

Yer a multitasker in life so shouldn’t your makeup also be? From one of my favorite new lines, BITE BEAUTY, is a new kind of BB – a BB for Lips ($24 @ sephora.com). I think when it comes to BB creams or BB anything, there can be upwards of, well, many different ingredients inside. I mean, that’s what makes a BB a BB!

DIY Corner - How to Recreate the Lilico Leather Flower Sandals from Sophia Webster

How many times have you lusted after a gorgeous pair of shoes only to finally have a peep at the price tag and see that to have them will cost you one or two paychecks? For most of us, it’s just not a reality. But for some reason when I saw Sophia Webster Lilico Leather Flower Sandals, I immediately thought, “I can make these!” It’s not something I normally say to myself when looking at a pair of shoes but for some reason, that’s what popped into my head.

So I took on the challenge of recreating a pair of couture shoes that cost $595 for under $100. Here is the step-by-step on how I made them.

Review+Swatches - Make Up For Ever Aqua Matic

In my continuing obsession with eyeliners, I bring you two from MAKE UP FOR EVER and their new Aqua Matic liners. Since the brand is a makeup artist’s go-to line, I expect a lot from it and have rarely been disappointed from the items.

Since temps are heating up, as the name hints at, these liners are able to lock onto lids. Each contains a combo of silica, oils, and polymers that creates a flexible film that’s able to hold up to sweating, heat, and even water. They truly don’t move after setting.

Review+Swatches - Butter London Wink Cream Eye Shadows

Who isn’t into bright lip and nails these days? Pretty much all categories of makeup can be found in bright versions and BUTTER LONDON just put out a collection called the Lolly Brights Collection. While some are on the bright side like the Nail Lacquers, I found the Wink Cream Eye Shadows ($18 @ dermstore.com) more on the pastel side of the spectrum. I’m not usually a fan of pastels but these might just change my mind. Click after to the jump to see why.

5 Favorite … Hair Helpers

5-Favorite-...-Hair-Helpers
1.
KERASTASE Forme Fatale Voluptuous Blow-Dry Gel ($35/4.2oz, $182.1oz @ kerastase-usa.com) – for some reason I’ve been into having quite big hair these days and since I’m not that great at teasing my hair (it just doesn’t last!), I’ve been relying on this blow-dry gel to get me there and it has the bonus of UV and heat protection.

2. SCHWARZKOPF Igora Expert Mousse ($13.95/3.2oz @ schwarzkopf-professionalusa.com) - give your current color a kick with this one. This colour mousse lasts up to 8 washes and is super easy to use – just apply to towel-dried hair, leave on about 20 minutes and jump back in the shower and rinse. My color is 5-88 (light brown red extra) and it gives my hair just the right amount of boost without the commitment. Choose from different 13 shades!

3. SALLY HERSHBERGER 3-in-1 Volumizing Spray ($12.99/8.5oz @ amazon.com) – Since I want to keep my red hair red for longer than a few weeks, I rely on dry shampoos a lot. And this new one is infused with caffeine so I guess you could say it really gets my hair moving! Ok, not that funny but this does give strands some volume and texture to get you through the day.

4. FROM THE LAB Transforming Hair Cleanser No. 724 ($19.95/5oz @ fromthelab.com) – this one is 180 degrees from what you’re used to using on your hair in the shower. First, it doesn’t lather up, which might not be comfortable for some people but I’m telling you, the final results are worth it. It uses raspberry stem cell extract (to nourish the scalp), Andiroba Oil (for its omega-3 fatty acids), vitamin E, Castor Seed and Almond oils to do all the work – shampoo, condition and detangle. Yup, all in one!

5. REDKEN Move Ability 05 from the New Flex Collection ($19/1.7oz @ amazon.com) – I’ve often been tempted to cut off all my hair just so I can use all the pomades, waxes and sculpting gels out there but, sigh, I like it long. But with this Move Ability 05, I don’t have to! It’s a light cream-paste that I’ve been using to define the ends of my hair after blow drying.

What I’m Loving Right … Now!

What-I'm-Loving-Right-...-Now!
Face Love
- JOUER COSMETICS Essentials Matte Touch ($26 @ jouercosmetics.com) – It’s officially the season of shiny faces, so make sure you carry a translucent mattifier with you at all times. This one from Jouer really absorbs oil and contains good-for-skin ingredients like vitamins C, D & E and Willow Bark Extract.

Wipe Love - TARTE ‘Fresh Eyes’ Maracuja Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover Wipes ($12/30 wipes @ qvc.com) – I love me some face wipes and it was only a matter of time before our tarte friends came out with some. These combine maracuja with fruit extracts to fully remove makeup and nourish the skin.

Body Love - THE GRAPESEED CO Custom Lotion in Mama’s Blend ($22/8oz @ grapeseedco.com) – While I prefer a body oil to a lotion these days, I’m simply loving this lotion in grapeseed, aloe & coconut! And it’s made with quality ingredients. Make your own custom lotion with their rich vinotherapy body lotion and you can even choose your own name and bottle color.

Hair Love - PUREOLOGY ‘Strength Cure’ Restorative Masque ($50/5.2oz @ walgreens.com) – No matter what month the calendar says, my strands always seems in need of a hair mask. This latest mask from one of my favorite hair care lines fortifies strands with Asta-Repair including Astaxanthin, a powerful antioxidant, which  reduces breakage of micro-scarred/damaged color-treated hair.

Fragrance Love - RAW SPIRIT Wild Fire EDP ($35/7.5ml rollerball @ rawspiritfragrances.com) – this warm scent pays tribute to one of the founder’s native land of Australia with sandalwood, creamy amber along with ylang ylang, jasmine on a base of musk and cedarwood. Really nice.
