Dermasuri Deep Exfoliating Mitt
It’s not often I’m standing in the shower saying, “wow,” out loud and over and over but I must have said it about 6 times as I used this next product. It’s the brand new DERMASURI Deep Exfoliating Mitt and sure was I sure skeptical when I entered the shower.
What it is: A deep exfoliating mitt to help you achieve healthy, glowing skin that maintains its elasticity, suppleness, and smoothness. Made from a unique fabric texture, the Durmasuri revitalizes your skin by removing dead skin cells and debris off your body, revealing healthy, smooth skin underneath. Unlike other exfoliation methods such as loofahs or scrubs, the Dermasuri unique fabric grabs and sloughs off flaky dead skin from the skin’s surface and simply rolls it off.
My take: I read up on this one and watched the video on their website so I knew exactly how to use it in the shower (not sure why I thought this one had some secret to using it!!). Basically, they recommend hanging out in the steamy shower for like 5 minutes to soften the skin and wet the mitt. Then, squeeze the water out, put it on your hand, and begin to aggressively rub the mitt up and down each part of your body (not recommended for face).
Now from watching the video and reading the packaging, it says you’re supposed to see the skin cells on your skin but I didn’t so I thought it might not work but when I looked at the mitt, there it was! So after scrubbing each leg, arm, my butt, stomach and as much of my back that I could reach (my arm was killing me after tending to each part!), I would check the mitt and then rinse it off. And after toweling off? Smoooooooth skin. Just wow.
As far as what this material this mitt is made of that makes it able to exfoliate so well? I couldn't uncover the secret except that it is a "unique material." Ok, I'll take that answer but of course I had to show a macro shot of the glove material. Looks like a shag rug to me!
Anyway, I’m guessing this mitt would be perfect to use before getting a spray tan or applying self-tanner. They recommend using this once every few weeks and replacing it every 3 to 4 months but maybe it can be like a razor. Remember when they used to recommend you use a razor one time before throwing it out? Sure don't hear that anymore! I just don't know if I can throw it out after 3 to 4 months without thinking I can still get some life out of it. Ok, my issue but I’m sure sold on this mitt. $19.99 @ amazon.com.
