Cybelesays Special Report! Trend Spotting @ ISSE Long Beach
It was the end of January and for me, that means one thing, the International Salon & Spa Expo (ISSE) in Long Beach! Every year I go to walk the floor to see what the trends are and looks for new and exciting ones. And I came across a few I think you will find really interesting, so click after the pic to read more…
For trends at this year’s show, there seemed to be more than enough gel nail companies showing their goods as well as hair companies with the hair oils but after I peeled all those away, I did find some gems.
The first product I found of interest was Curlformers by Hairflair. Curlformers are exactly what they sound like – corkscrew looking soft mesh curlers that can make three different types of curls in the hair without the use of heat. I guess these have been out for some time but I’d never seen them before. I’ll let you know how they work as I bought the ones showed in the picture, the Extra Long Spiral Curls on hair up to 22”. Check out more about them @ sallybeauty.com.
The next item I picked up was one making its debut at the show and that wasn’t coming out for a few days still – Cailyn Cosmetics’s new Dizzolv’It Makeup Cleansing Balm. This one claims to melt makeup, dirt, sunscreen and anything else on your face without leaving behind a greasy film. I’m super excited for this one to see how it works and will keep you posted. Read more about it @ cailyncosmetics.com.
Next up was one to make keeping your pedicure intact while it dries, the Pedi Princess. These flip flops have extra … posts to keep all the toes in place while your pedi dries. And the top of the foam of the sandal is toe shaped!! Very cute.
I did notice they had a chemical smell when I took them out of their plastic pouch. Has it faded since being in the pouch? A little but it's still there if I give them a sniff but not a strong as when I took them out of their pouch that first time. Many prints to choose from @ amazon.com.
And no show would be a show without picking up some makeup brushes. Daniel from Crown Brush was kind enough to show me their latest launches, which included their new Flawless Face Blender, their 5-Piece Professional Makeup Brush Set and their new Infinity Brush Collection, which looks wonderful. See more about their line @ crownbrush.us.
After walking and carefully looking at every brand, it was close to 6pm and the show was closing. Wow, 4 hours went by so fast and I thought I’d have more than enough time to see it all and shop. There were a few things I didn’t get to pick up before I had to leave and that was CND’s latest Vinylux and I was also wanted to go back and find a cool looking teasing comb I saw. Oh well, there’s always next year.
